This movie was filmed using lowriders, mostly from Salinas California Car Clubs. It was also filmed in the Monterey County in the neighboring City of Watsonville California located just a few minutes away from Salinas. The lowrider car clubs would meet and take off from the Sky View Drive In Theater in East Salinas right before they made these scenes. Back then it was Salinas Cruising that was like what you see here in the movie, Watsonville was chosen due to being a smaller city to film in. Not much has changed besides the new stores, and car models, but one thing for sure, this was RAZA UNIDA times, right before the street wars broke out. Great Film.

It's Watsonville, at least that scene was. If you want to be specific, the scene where they all pull over is in Pajaro. 3 years after this movie was made most of downtown Watsonville was trashed by the 89 earthquake.

I remember watching this on channel 7 ABC back in 1988 and I was surprised to see Danny De La Paz was in this movie playing another Cholo but this time only for less than 6min.

I never knew that a movie was filmed in Watsonville I was born in Watsonville but never been back since 85' I was about 9 years old when my parent's moved us from there.
