Supplemental Plug Install Instructions:
• CruzeKits.com V3 PCV F...
This PCV fix kit is intended to be installed with the intake manifold on the car. The video shows the manifold off the car so you can clearly see the technique of plug being installed.
This video shows you how to install the V3.4+ PCV Fix Kit from CruzeKits.com. This fix kit applies to the following vehicles with the GM 1.4L Turbo LUV, LUJ, or A14NET engine:
2011-2015 and 2016 Limited 1.4L Cruze
2011-2019 Chevy Sonic/Aveo
2015+ Chevy Trax
2013+ Buick Encore (Excludes LE2-equipped models)
2011+ Opel/Vauxhall Corsa (Turbo only)
2009+ Opel/Vauxhall Astra J (Turbo only)
2010+ Opel/Vauxhall Meriva B
2011+ Opel/Vauxhall Zafira Tourer
This PCV fix kit addresses the missing/malfunctioning intake manifold check valve as well as replacing the corrugated hose that typically cracks, resulting in a check engine light. This kit along with a new GM valve cover will fix all of the PCV issues these cars have.

Good resource and prompt chat answers on the CruzeKits website. A+ service. Easy installed this kit onto a new Dorman intake manifold. Because the Dorman is an "improved" design, the diaphragm plug seal process on the PCV port is a bit different because the diaphragm sits at an angle and farther back in the intake housing. Was told to use a #10 sheet metal screw and 7/16 nylon washer. After pushing out the center button on the diaphragm I used the recommended 3/4" #10 self tapping pointed sheet metal screw (actually used a pan head screw which has a wider head that will cover the parameter port holes without a nylon washer as there was not sufficient space to fit a 7/16" nylon washer). I just used extra JB weld on the screw threads, under the pan head and on top of the screw, after insertion, to seal the diaphragm port holes. Worked like a charm. Can't wait to test it out as the old system had obviously failed.

Just installed mine yesterday. I highly suggest buying the tool kit. I have 6 different screwdrivers and NONE of them were thin enough in the shaft to fit when the plug was also stuck onto it. I ended up losing my first plug because it sat sideways. I used an angled pick to pull it out but it shot out and I lost it lol Second one I used a thin metal tool I had and thankfully that worked. I’ll fire it up later today at the 24hr mark and see how she runs. Thanks again!

Found my Cruze to be leaking oil from the front of the valve cover right after purchasing it. Engine was running fine and was at 75K, so I decided to purchase a new GM valve cover and do a tune up to it. Replaced valve cover, spark plugs, ignition coil, air filter, changed oil. After starting the car, it was idling very sporadic and stalling at times and threw a couple of codes. I did some research and came across this kit and seemed to be the fix to my issue. Put the kit on, let it dry for a complete day. I started the car - it idled perfectly, drove it around for a little and cleared the codes. It’s been running like it should. Thanks for the informational video and the kit!

Just installed this kit! Was very easy to do. My check valve in the manifold was already missing. Now time to wait for the JB weld to cure.. hopefully this will fix some of the issues I was having.. the cam cover had a strong vacuum and the car was running rough at times. I replaced the cam cover and did this kit.. we shall see what happens.. I’m very impressed with this kit and how determined you are to answer everyone’s questions. You don’t get customer service like that these days. Thanks again

Thanks for the vid. I recommend removing the intake the manifold, it’s really not much extra work. Much easier to see what you’re doing and you can thoroughly clean the area around the old check valve. Buy the small plastic/nylon type fuel line disconnector tool kit from local parts store and leave the injectors/fuel rails in place to speed things up.
@AndreiDPop
@AndreiDPop 10 месяцев назад
I left the injectors in the rail when I removed the manifold. No messing with fuel that way. It’s still a process and I don’t like being hunched over an engine bay more than I have to. Installing the kit without removing the manifold saves you 60-90 minutes of work, which most people and auto repair shops prefer. It is easier to clean it if you have it out though so I can see that. If you prefer removing it, go for it. Nothing wrong with that, just more work.

I’m happy to see that you’ve been making videos for 10 years. I recently acquired a 2015 Chevy sonic 1.4L turbo and your videos are amazingly informational about the engine. Im familiar with chevy’s v8 platforms but not so much the i4. I have an issue where my car is giving me codes on the dash for multiple random lights, but all the lights are working. The car seems so have lost power, I can hardly get it to 55 and it doesn’t get there in a hurry. I’m currently at o Reilly’s grabbing an obd2 scanner and am going to check the PCV system, coolant system, and then possibly the turbo depending on the codes I get. I’ll comment again and let you know what I find. If you have experienced something similar though I would appreciate your input.

Just finished the install, and while I greatly appreciate your RU-vid video detailing installation, I had to refer to several other videos showing installation instructions, hints and tips - to be able to complete the job. My biggest problem was trying to remove the various plugs from their ports - NO videos were detailed enough to do me any good. I ended up just cutting off the hoses at the plugs still installed on their ports, attaching the new hoses and clamps, and had little problem doing it that way. I wish you’d do a new video showing how to install the kit ON the engine, not with the intake removed, and either show how to remove all the plugs in detail, or just do it the way I did it, leaving the plugs in their ports. The one plug I was able to remove was the one attached at the intake manifold check valve port, but I managed to lose the plastic washer in the plug that held the rubber washer in. They both fell out, but i did find the rubber washer. A local Chevy dealer wanted $80 to sell me the whole hose with fittings and washers installed, so that was a no go. I got a copper washer from a NAPA Auto Parts store, but it didn’t fit when I tried it…at which time I did find the plastic washer i had lost and was able to complete the installation. Anyway, GREAT job putting that kit together, and I hope for future buyers, you help them with a better install video. Thank you!

So I guess you'll need to redo the first part again with that EVAP line everytime that goes bad also. Seems like this is way easier with the intake off too
@AndreiDPop
@AndreiDPop Год назад
Redoing the first part takes all of 2 minutes if you need a new EVAP line, and it’s much easier to install the plug in the engine bay. It’s simply easier to show it installed with the manifold on a bench. Removing the manifold can be a pain and takes an hour and a half on it’s own (including reinstall). Most people greatly prefer to not have to remove it and are able to install it easily with the manifold in the car.

Then you loose the vacuum on the crankcase which will cause a loss of fuel economy, increase in oil consumption, increase in emissions, and increase in external oil leaks. The low tension piston rings need that vacuum to function correctly which is why we restore it by adding an external check valve once the old hole is plugged up.

You should remove the intake because the pcv system leaves a hard residue around the valve that will need scraped AND your intake will be full of oil like half a quarter or more its 6 simple bolts oh and you might be able to see what your doing
@AndreiDPop
@AndreiDPop Год назад
It’s certainly an option but not necessary. The manifold fills up with oil when the PCV system isn’t working correctly, and that eventually vaporizes off and disappears. The hard residue is caused by long term use of low quality oil, and scraping can be done with the optional install tools option, which includes a custom made steel bristle brush that can be attached to a drill. It is very effective. Nothing wrong with removing the manifold, but it does add a couple of hours to the repair.

3:00 so if the check valve is there and the intake is on the car, you just break off the orange check valve and it just stays broken off floating within the intake manifold?
@AndreiDPop
@AndreiDPop 7 месяцев назад
If that’s what you end up doing, the check valve flap would drop into the inside of the intake manifold and would get consumed by the engine. This is what happens when the check valve fails on its own, so you’d basically be forcing it to fail early. I haven’t heard of any issues arising from people doing this, but if you’re at all concerned about it, you could pull the manifold and shake the flap out.

No, it’s a vastly larger overhead in inventory stocking and labor time. I’d have to hire another person just to do that.
