Other common names for the chili pequin include chilitepin, birds eye, bravo, chiliquin, chilipiquini, grove pepper, mosquito pepper, pequeno, turkey pepper, Texas pepper, wild chili plant, hot peppers.
The pequin can be used in salsa, pickling, soups, vinegars. The plant prefers shade and daily watering, but are drought tolerant.
