Award-winning actor Max McLean presents his acclaimed portrayal of C.S. Lewis Onstage in The Most Reluctant Convert in Dallas! TheaterMania says McLean delivers an “uncannily spot-on performance!” The Chicago Sun-Times calls it “Bristling, Provocative, Highly Entertaining!” And The Weekly Standard writes “McLean delivers a performance that is worthy of its subject…a story about an immensely creative mind arriving at the threshold of faith.”

After hearing Max McLean in his recital of Genesis, I was anxious to hear more. I'm very happy to have found this portrail of C.S. Lewis.

I am, too! The film is even better. It's the same guy playing CS Lewis, right?

That last line that the actor quoted from CS Lewis in this trailer was my graduate quote from my transition/job training program in 2015, based at a local high school. I still remember a couple of the program's job coaches saying to me "are you *sure* you want this quote?" and "because it sounds pretty depressing." Their words made it blatantly clear to me that they definitely didn't know Lewis and in all probability were not christians. If they were, they would have a sense of WHY I chose that quote.

Lewis is the most intelligent person I've ever had the pleasure to read from. Means you're pretty smart too :)

To behonest, i never knew C.S Lewis as a thinker. I barely even knew him as the author of the Narnia books (because i didn't much care for the books. Because after seeing the Narnia movies, i didn't much care for the movie.) But how wrong i was, when i watched this play- i was expecting just an old man coughing on stage for the most part. I was greatly and pleasantly surprised- my whole view of C.S Lewis was hammered into a more appropriate and stark "Visionary and trailblazing christian" which i can now better appreciate him and his work. I plan on reading his book, "Mere Christianity" and several more. If anyone is lacking in their knowledge of C.S Lewis, it would be a disservice to themselves if they didn't watch this.

I love the bumper sticker I see weekly, on a car at church. It says, "Never judge a book by it's movie" (grin!) And if ever you might possibly be inclined, to just sample, or,"taste & see", most libraries have his Narnia books on CD, WORD FOR WORD, as he wrote it... which makes ALL the difference in the world! Am so glad you enjoy his other writings! Many of his books are now on tape (well, recordings), & I've been able to get through many more of them thataway. This year I listened through (several times, each), "Surprised By Joy", "The Abolition of Man", & am currently going through, "The Weight of Glory". All are absolutely astounding! : )

The movie versions of the Narnia stories were, by and large, terrible. The books are amazing. CS Lewis is such a great author. Glad you enjoyed this play.

OH MY WORD, SAME HERE!! I already had an appreciation for CS Lewis pretty much my entire life (give or take a few), since I was a child and was first introduced to The Chronicles of Narnia. It grew as my dad read me the Chronicles, and also told me some things about him. This play's film counterpart of the same name really drew an interest of his book "Surprised by Joy," and "Phantastes" (by George MacDonald) which I am reading. It inspired CS Lewis and reads very much like a literal dream. It is just exquisite and wonderful! Definitely an adult imagination-sparking story.
