I would like to clear something up for those that are looking for a workhorse that you will not want to part with. That’s the quiet line 1250 hydrostatic ! I am in my seventies and have one with all the bells and whistles. At minute marker you stated that you couldn’t see much use in the PTO. You need to rethink that. The hydro actually does have PTO’s and you are only limited by your imagination. The PTO has a horizontal pulley for belt drive on the bottom and a vertical on the top. If you really want to get serious:you can change them out too chain drive sprockets . You can run a sawmill or anything else that you can imagine. I am currently running a 36” I.H. Tiller. My tractor has the electric clutch,mule, disk brakes, 3 point,heavy steel rear end. The reason you won’t see these much is because of your high end buyers and commercial users own and pass them down. My tractor is almost fifty years old “God Bless AMERICAN MADE” ! MARANATHA ☝🏻

Only problem with this model like any other is lack of maintenance by the previous owners. They don't fix anything until the thing doesn't work anymore. That's about the time that I could afford to drag the junk home to try to save it from the slow boat to China 🇨🇳 . I have about 50 Cubs stashed inside my buildings and I'm out of room so I'm glad to see you're picking up the slack! My wife keeps asking me, don't you have enough tractor's? I tell her, They're like Orphans, They all need a place to call home. Nice to see They're finding you're place instead of mine 🙂 lol.

Clean specimen of a 1200. Those Quietlines are really nice tractors to use when the engine mounts aren't worn out. A friend of mine's dad had a restored 800 a few years ago and I could not believe how quiet that little K181 ran with good mounts. They certainly live up to their name. I went through a Quietline phase a few years ago, but got my hands on an 1811 before I had the chance to own one...then I got hooked on the 82 series and it snowballed from there.

I agree. The 82 series bug hit me as well. I am really getting a thing for the quietline the more I learn about them. I do love the 82 series tho.

Very nice. My very first Cub Cadet was a 1200. I have always liked the Quietline series but I feel like they are less popular among collectors and kind of get a bad rap due to those isolator bushings. I have seen many times in the forums and on the groups when someone asks about a Quietline some guys will get one there and bash them and call them junk just because of the isolator bushings which I dont think is fair. Also I have noticed that on 1650 models (and maybe others) I have seen them with 2 lift levers on the dash and hydraulic ports out the front. Not very often but i have seen a few.

I agree. I think the rubber mounts give them a bad rep. I guess you love them or hate them is what i often see.

I've repaired 6 of these in the last two years not because there design, but the lack of maintenance they received from their owners. For what a fantastic machine this is, it's hard for me to understand why people are so cheap to spend a few hundred to repair a tractor that will last decades into the future vs what's produced out there today that may only last a few years. Weak spot on these is the 3 pin driver that drives the clutch. Check for fine cracks around the center/ replace it! Along with all new engine mounts. Fix them then enjoy them!

Just bought a 74 1200 today and this thing roars like a lion until you engage gears or blades then it purrs. I need to find a deck nomenclature to get blades but open otherwise she is straight up suhweet. $500 with 890 hours. The owner mowed ¼ acre in front of his house which was the center of his farm so not much use.

I do not have any of them, But I do know of somebody who has a really nice collection of them. I will ask him if he would like to share his collection on a video. Keep posted. That is a great idea.

If I have the option between a 1200 or a 1250 which should I choose? I just need it for mowing a small area. Nothing major. Both seem to have been maintained well. Just wanted to know which is better for mowing.
@steiger256
@steiger256 Месяц назад
You would be happier with the 1250 for mowing. If you dont have to go forward and backwards a lot the gear drive are okay, But it is hard to beat a hydro. I will say the gear drives also have more parts to maintain and fix like cluth, clutch plates, throwout bearing ect.
