On March 29th, 2020 my friend and business partner of nearly 40 years and my flying buddy, Jim Ireland lost his life test-flying a SAL two-third scale P-51 replica with a Chevrolet LS-3 engine. This being March 2022 and nearing the 29th, I was feeling a bit melancholy and decided to fly Gypsy Wind to Flying Oaks and visit friends Steve and Mike. What a great day it turned out to be and it did lift my spirit as flying always does. This video is dedicated to our great, departed friend Jim but also to the hundreds of friends who adored him in life, more importantly, it is dedicated to his bride-to-be, Gayla Maas, who feels the loss on such a deeper scale that we can only imagine. GOD speed Jim Ireland, we will meet again.
