Cuban samwich with pot liquor to dip it in mmmm mmmm good. next best is Cuban style roasted pork, shoulder or fresh ham, black beans and some yellow rice doesn't get any better than that. Maybe some flan for the sweet tooth. I sure do miss the island influenced food of Florida, it's just not the same here in Michigan
Mitch- I was as nervous as a cat in a room full or rocking chairs watching you use that filet knife so close to your left hand. Have a healthy and prosperous New Year. JM
That Insta-Pot is easy to use. Heck, I make chili in it and if I've done it up right that chili will last for 4 days. You can also slow cook in it and that timer will go to 20 hours. I should know I have it set permanently for that amount of time. There is one thing that you need to be made aware of, that thing drains over the counter when the top is set to steam, I made a platform for the pot that I can put a tray under the drain and stop the water from going all over the counter. Use it enough and you'll find out about this quirk as well. I also use it in conjunction with my Big Green Egg where I can set up my wok on its stand. I love cooking in that for a couple of reasons 1 it doesn't heat up the kitchen and 2 it's easy to use and can get temperatures up to 850 degrees. Turkeys on a beer butt take about 2 3/4 hours if you maintain 500 degrees and don't go in looking at the bird. I've done 8 in the past 5 years and share them with friends and family. Steaks, pork loin chicken either in parts or the whole bird, pizza, yes it will cook a 15" pizza on the stone that I got with the grill My 30" Egg has a rib rack, an electric fire starter, and two wooden trays that attach to the sides of the egg. and the nest which has wheels so you can move it around if you so want to. At the time I got it I had employees working for the company that was selling the unit so I got it for less than 85% off of the retail price.
