Cubs vs. Brewers Game Highlights (9/29/23) | MLB Highlights 

I know it is not in to any point of this video but, I grew up in Louisiana and down here we never had a baseball team and oddly enough we had this odd channel we used to get down here called WGN channel 9 and I grew up in love of Wrigley Field and Harry Caray and those beautiful Chicago evenings on the TV. That is where my fandom for my Cubbies started just figure I would share it.. Hopefully next year we can build on what the team got right this year :D

This was a great game. Boushley became more confident after striking out Gomes in the 10th, they walk tauchman which was a risky but genius move. If you watched the game, Tauchman was looking like he was gonna hit it and possibly win the battle against Boushley. He figured out Wisdom quite easily though and ended the inning with the bases loaded. Epic night for Boushley. And thanks to the Crew as marlins fan.

Being a cubs fan was hard this year…

Just happened to drop in at the beginning of the fifth. If you've been watching the Cubs this year you know Hendricks doesn't get very deep in most all of his outings, that he just stops making his pitches and guys start to hit his relatively slow delivery when he loses command. And that was obviously happening with the first batter. So you pull him. But Ross left him in. WELLL given our crappy relief staff, maybe you can understand that but still letting a disaster happen to avoid another disaster is the wrong choice. Say you bring in Cuas. 50/50 chance he retires the side, 50/50 chance he gives up a run or two. But you KNOW Hendricks has lost it. So I would have pulled him at the start of the fifth. IF my priority was winning games. Now on the other side of the coin, just when you've identified the bp as the culprit this year, they post a bunch of zeros for two days running. Last night they kept the brewers runless through the 6th, 7th, 8th, AND 9th innings. In the last game against the Braves they gave up 1 run from the THIRD through the end of the game. Is it just *sick* to suggest that if they went to the bp before Hendricks gave up 3, they would have given up runs? I mean, is that just *ill*? I won't go there. My tough love is: Hendricks wants to end his career with the cubs? He goes to the bullpen. Or It's just understood he pitches 4 innings only. there's a small chance that his lack of endurance is related to his injury and that given another offseason of conditioning he might come back *better* next year. I mean I guess it's possible. But the thing with Hendricks is when he loses control, he's relatively easy to hit. So you have to pull him fast. [edit] ok just actually watched the highlights--I don't know what the error was on the Cubs but it looked like H. loaded the bases in the fifth with no outs and Hendricks *induced* a double play ball which Hoerner bobbled, getting one out instead of two with a run scoring on the play. Brewers 1, cubs 0. A series of hits followed giving the Brewers a 3-run lead. Hendricks was charged for all three runs. But he wasn't as responsible as I thought. Couldn't help but notice that Swanson left Hoerner out of the equation on several plays after his recent gaffes. But they've all had errors in the virtual post season. So many close games lost. It is what it is.
