at one point during the game Pete Crow caught a 3rd out in center, looked at the crowd behind him, faked a throw to them and then looked at the ball and put it in his glove before trotting off the field with the ball...class act.

Just gross, man. He’s still a kid so he’ll learn not to do that stuff hopefully (although nowadays he has some bad examples in the league as some players become more and more obnoxious- btw I’m a young guy in my 20s to shut down all those trolls calling me grand-dad). But he should realize that the fans whose team picked him in the draft and raised him in their farm system rooted for his success with all their heart at one point. Color me old-fashioned but old-school unwritten rules are needed to keep these overpaid jocks in check. Lindor learned his lesson with that stupid thumbs-down with that bum Baez.

LOL that’s some poetry. I’d love to agree with ya but Narvaez has got to improve a thousand-fold to be Bench 2.0. Placing a tag on a runner is a simple thing, though he did make a nice scoop with that first throw. Mets catchers need to do a much better job at throwing people out stealing. Some of the blame falls on the pitchers but even then, catchers are generals of the field and are ultimately responsible. 1-41 or whatever it is is atrocious. I get it, as a senior league (16+) catcher it ain’t easy but these guys are paid the big bucks to cut them down.

@@antonioruiz7629 Placing a tag on a runner is a simple thing. Tell him Wash. It's incredibly difficult. The first one was an exceptional play by Narvaez. A short hop at home with a player barreling in from 3rd while not blocking the plate and tagging him out? Exceptional!!! I don't think Narvaez should be our everyday catcher. It should be Alvarez. But ... Thanks for the compliment on the poetry. I was not saying that our catchers are great. I'm saying Narvaez was great on those two plays.

Wait, touching the base by holding your helmet makes you safe now? So anyone can do that for any baserunning? Going back on a pick off, just stretch the helmet but the hand never touches the bag, and you’re still safe? Stealing a base and throwing your helmet out front to beat the tag? His average is going to struggle throughout the year because of his poor start. You’re delusional if you think he should be benched when he’s in a league where everyone goes 1 for 4 and 0 for 5 every other game. He’s slowly back on track and if you can’t see that it’s your fault. There’s a reason you don’t boo your own players and lindor was a great example because the support he’s been given even through his struggles tells him that the fans know what he can do, he’s an incredible ball player. If the fan base was like you, no one would succeed

@@priestsonaplane2236 you know what I agree. Personally a 4 or 5 somewhere in the middle. He performs when there’s runners on base. Middle order is a bunch of guys that hit hard but you need guys who can advance runners and do the big hitting. McNeill and Lindor would be my guys to be there
