I’m a firm believer of covering up the intake opening so nothing falls in

your throttle shaft seal is leaking had the same problem on my truck if you read on line thay will tell you you need a new injection pump but you can change your seals look up a video on turning up the fuel on a 6.2 diesel that will show you how to remove the gov linkage than you remove the trans kikdown valve on the passenger side of the throttle shaft and the clamp than pull the shaft out take the o rings to the parts store and get new ones it was easer than i thought it would be. also you can find the 6.2 shop manual online with the injection pump

+Ethan Sherman I think you're right. When I got the truck, it puked fuel from the injection pump area. The rumor was, drive it for a while and let the o-rings get re-hydrated. After a few drives, the leak stopped. It's been good for almost 2 years, but it finally seems to have given out. I figured I'd just have the whole pump rebuilt to reduce any future problems with it.

Hey man, is there a gasket between lower and upper manifolds?

Yes, there are. I picked them up at O'Reilly's along with injection pump gasket.
