Go with a gray vinyl on the sides. Alcantara is fine, or you could potentially source the original fabric for the inserts to keep it consistent with the original intent. Red top stitching would match the exterior color well.
Yes!!! I’m in the same situation. Been trying to get to decide which seats to use and mostly that’s because of the color. The car I’m putting the seats in is a black GT with scarlet red interior. I have the s550 seats that I bought for my other car but haven’t installed due to mounting issues. Basically, yes you can make them fit, but I’m 6’2” with long legs. I like my seats low and far back so my legs aren’t up in the steering wheel. Can you (or have you already) made a video showing how you mounted the s550 seats? As for the color combo on the seats, I’ve been feeling the black/red plaid that’s common in VW’s and being used on some recaros now. I think that material for the inserts, and then red stitching to tie it in with the titanium
If you do leather, don’t do black on the outside edges because as it ages and wears in, the lines become more noticeable in black than any other color. High quality leather still develops creases. My .02. Dark red center, gray sides and black stitches.
I’m 6’3 300lbs and sit much better in my Recaro LXB than S550 cloth seats in my fox. Both had/have custom brackets to sit lower and farther back than factory.
My CTS-V had alcentera it's really nice. I would do grey and black mixture with red stitching. The car is so red doing red alcentera inserts would seem too much and probably really hard to match. I removed the door pockets on my car and covered the lower panel with suede off Amazon and wrapped the dash pad. It looks decent. Now I need more to do the rear deck panel in my notch.
This is one thing I am seriously debating. I might have him make me an extra set with the logo. Not that I ever plan to sell the car but if I did I would have a set without too
I am looking into it myself not your logo mine lol And I’m still waiting to get the design back to send you for the T-shirts. I’ll text you as soon as I get it.
Maybe like John’s where the back is black then titanium on the sides with black alcentra in the middle with some kind of red stripe or design to tie it in? Or maybe red stitching
Personally i really like a 2 tone all black with hints of red . Love red cars and u already have a red paint and black wheels theme going on so i think it would be to ur benefit to redue the interior completely with all black mixed with red 2 tone interior ….just sick all the way around and it will match perfectly with the outside of the car .
I used the lmr interior paint to do my interior and its turning out great ! I think next time i would do the sem interior black paint as i think it goes on easier .
I would say this....IF you do leather or any other material for that matter....perforated holes are like head starts for rips. Like perforated paper...tears along the line.
@@417fox I used to do auto upholstery work YEARS ago...and a lot of the seat repairs were perforated leather as well as seat heater malfunctions and cigarette burns and the outer bolster getting beat up cuz that is the one that gets the most traffic. I would also say that leather needs to be taken care of...cuz when it gets dry and brittle it can crack..but...you probably already know this.
My car had S550 seats in it and instead of modifying the tracks he just drilled holes through the floor and the seats sat too high so I went with stock seats.
