I came upon a free pair of these exact Nikes in white on my way back from work tonight, and took them home thinking they were perfect as a custom paint project. I didn't kno these were a standard in the custom shoe art world, I just looked up acrylic painting Nikes and found this video. I looked at the shoes and confirmed they're indeed Nike Air Force 1's, exact hahaha. Thanks so much for this! A worth-it freecycle for upcycle before they went to a landfill 👍
Ratingz my G! The thing that amazed me is your level of attention and i love how you shared your specifications about the proportions of paints/duller etc. It makes all the difference when revealing the final product. Excellent customisation bro and btw good freehand skills i love the fact that you did all that and NOT a piece of tape used. AMAZING like if you agree guys credit where credit is due!!!!100%FIRE^^
Maybe Angelus could sponsor him and kick down a mixing cup so he doesn’t have to pour paint onto the box. Great custom!! Awesome finished shoe and design. Three thumbs up.
Thank you angelus customs your channel is so helpful to me I am so going to use this channel to learn how to customize shoes and I don't know how to repay you
Thanks for the video. Just bought my first kit and forgot the duller. I used tge blue and silver and just didn't look right. Looked to shiny so I came back to the videos n see were I messed up. Glad I caught it when I was painting the tongue. Hope this works
Very new to the custom shoe world but a few of these videos have taught me a lot. I'm about to start my first custom vans Sk8 HI's tomorrow when the blank pair arrives. Wish me luck!
WOW. I just got started last night and I'm hooked. I always wanted to make custom shoes but had bad experiences in the past with chipping and paint quality. I watched a few of your videos and sopisophes and I learned the right way. I prepped both shoes and got started on one. I would love to share the finished product with you guys. is there anywhere that I can do that?
I'm about to tackle my Prada Americas cup trainers. Got them cheap at an outlet as they were the silver coloured ones. Going to strip the silver and apply the navy blue dye. If they come out half as good as the finish on his, I'll be a happy bunny.
Hi! No, the finisher is totally optional. Regardless of the kind of finisher, it will still provide a bit of shineso If you do not prefer shine, then we suggest tying it without finisher. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
hi!! i have an old pair of air force 1’s i wanna paint, do you recommend sealing them after though? and if so what product would work best? i plan to use acrylic paint bc it’s what i have on hand
If you are using our Angelus acrylic paint then sealing the paint with a finisher is optional. Using the finisher will help protect against minor scratches and scrapes. The key is to prep the leather first by using our Leather Preparer and Deglazer or Acetone. This will remove the factory finisher which will allow the paint to adhere to the leather. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Using the finisher is completely optional. The paints contain finisher and will last as long as the surface is prepped first. Along with adding some extra protection, the finisher will provide a sheen to the project. So it's completely your preference. @@AngelusBrand so the paint itself has a “clear” finisher in it? So you would only go over what you didnt paint? Correct? If you would want to put a coat on the whole shoe… whats the flash time on the paint before applying the “finisher”?
I got a couple questions. I know you're supposed to do 2-3 light coats for the base...but for the little black lines (design) does that have to be repeated 2-3 times as well? Is a finisher necessary on all the parts you paint? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just got a pair of kicks, and a set of Angelus Paints.
With time and experience you'll see that some colors will require more coats then others. Our black is very pigmented and should only take one coat for the detailed design work but there may be areas that need touch ups. Finisher is optional. Finisher may help to protect against minor scratches and scrapes but is generally used to give the project a type of shine. Have fun and let us know if you have any more questions.
Painting the rubber part of the sole leads to nothing but problems and as someone trying to help all you out on proper ways, I won't show things that can cause potential issues.
The paint takes about 15 mins in-between coats to dry and then allow 24-48 hours for the paint to set and cure before wearing them. To seal it is optional. The paints already contain a finisher so adding a top coat will help with a little extra protection and will provide a shine to the project.
