This is the last in a series of range tests covering the Onewheel GT S-Series, The Floatwheel ADV Pro, and my own custom VESC one wheel build using a Superflux on the XR frame (called the Galleon, for fun).

The details of the test conditions are described in the video, but the are as follows:
Battery charged to full, which is 1 hour after the green light, and full battery confirmed in the app.
Tire pressure @ 14psi
Rider weight with gear is 195lbs/88.5kg
55F/12.7C ambient tempertature
~20mph riding speed
Moderate crosswind/headwind

I would buy this board in a heartbeat! Ive been looking at a floatwheel, but man I love the XR platform. But I'm just not confident enough to build my own split pack lol

Nice video!! Thanks for this. But im curious... Does anyone have a good guesstimate on the 18s2p pack's range and speeds? I cant seem to find much, if any, info out on webs regarding those specs. Any help or insight would be splendid. 😊

The 18s2p version of this battery (the ME4T Pack that I make at the shop) would get about 2 miles less than this board. If you look at my earlier video, I do a range test with the Floatwheel ADV, and my colleague is riding a build with the 18s2p pack, and he got an extra mile out of his board while coasting carrying the dead Floatwheel.

Wow, that’s a huge increase of range even compared to floatwheel! I’m curious about the weight , torque and max speed comparison! Would love some details about that! I can’t wait to VESC! Also what are the pros and cons of the split battery?

I was curious about this as well, but if you pause and zoom at 1:32 , the specs appear to list the Samsung 50S cells.

@@starry_3689 my guess would be for the capacity the 50S cells offer. They seem to be what everyone is rocking for max range these days.

I did use the 50S cells. For the last year, I’ve been using the 50S cells in the packs I make for custom VESC one wheel builds, called ME4T Packs. I do make packs with the P45B cells, but I personally prefer the 50S and they’ve become my thing over the last year. So this is the next pack I’ve been working on to offer at my shop, taking the 18s2p ME4T pack and expanding it. I make a 20s2p pack for GT VESC conversion builds as well. theboardgarage.com/store

Edit: found it, just was brief and nothing on screen that showed it clearly. Guess my constructive feedback is make it clearer in the video visualy when talking about results of a test. Did i miss where the range was mentioned?

14 PSI Mario? Wow, didn't you always swear by running a super hard tyre at 25 PSI or something? Welcome to the dark side, next thing you'll have a Burris treaded or something 😎

When I was riding the XR, the higher pressure helped with the response and range a bit. The 14psi specifically came about because of the old model Enduro I installed on my current board. It rubs above 15psi, so I left it at 14psi and enjoyed how it rode. And since it’s a VESC board with a larger battery and a Superflux, I can set the response how I like. The lower pressure is a very nice ride, wish I had done it sooner.

Due to uneven weight distribution, you’re actually going to get more range if you ride a one wheel with the heavier side as the front side.

Umm no bud. 9.8 joules lifts 1kg 1 meter... the energy required to do the work doesn't change if you move the weight around. I don't have to prove this as its been extensively proven as a standard here on earth, I can prove it but there are many more reputable sources that already have .
