I have been examining the rugs in shops for sale and they all had a rubber/paint type substance on the letters. This is my attempt to replicate the finished product. It seems to have worked.

I've seen others just spray a light mist of water and run. They turn out great

on your video you show tying the inner parts of the O and E's so they stay connected. The next part of the video shows you finish spraying the template and lifting it up to show the fully painted mat. How did you deal with the little ties you made to hold the pieces of the letters together and how did you paint under or around them? AFAD LLC laser engraving

I made the bridges small and sprayed from both sides. The nature of spraying, it works around them.

People have been cutting templates with a Cricut (or other cutting machines) for a couple of years and then using Flex Seal spray. No clue how the Flex Seal compares to the Gorilla product that you used on this one. Seems to me though cutting the template on a laser would be better as it would provide a more rigid template.

Awesome. Could you cut a cardboard stencil with the laser? I haven't done much cutting was just wondering if you could cut out card board or if it would catch on fire.

You can, I have done it. The tabs would need to be a little bigger to hold letters securely. Settings have to be right or it will burn. Usually about half power.
