Preparing and Cooking Beef Heart. This is a very underrated and underpriced food source. Loaded with nutrients and so easy to eat. This 5 minute video shows the simple process of taking beef heart from freezer to plate. Delicious!
Just had beef heart for the first time ever. Marinated it in balsamic vinegar for a few hours, grilled it up just like a steak to medium rare, sliced it thinly and put it on a fresh baguette with sauteed mushrooms and mayo, Delicious! I'm a fan.
looks great :-) however, fat is not the enemy, carbs and sugar are the enemy (keto girl lol) fat is where the fat soluble vitamins are and not to mention flavor YUM
The beast steak sandwich I ever had was a lamb heart marinated in EVOO and lemon juice, seared on a flat top on a fresh chibatta roll with a bit of horseradish and arugula. A lot of effort for one sandwich, but worth it.
Looks like you know what is healthy and what causes problems. You mentioned grass-fed and you used avocado oil. Good choices. I need to get some iron because I’m anemic and I’m starting with heart. Thanks for the tips!
Oo that looks good. I would leave the fat. Tons of riboflavin which is important for mitochondrial function. Seed oil has linoleic acid which in abundance impairs metabolism.
I always loved chicken hearts, but I picked up a beef heart the other day to start feeding my dogs a raw diet by mixing it in their kibble. I sliced a steak size portion for myself it it was so delicious. Have to go get another one soon, I'll defiantly be eating it more often.
