My parents have been teasing me for THIRTY YEARS because apparently as a kid I said I wanted to name my future baby Felony. Felicity + Melanie, guys!!!
This reminds me of last year during a pathology class we were having this same discussion, and we decided "Shigella" would be a good name for a baby girl, were it not a bacteria that causes diarrhea
@@brodie2379 dream is not that bad. I put it in the same category as Hope. True is kinda ok because I've heard is as a nickname for someone named Trudy. BUT Psalm and Saint are horrible names. I'm on the fence about Stormy.
Once saw a woman running after her preschooler in an airport yelling at him, “Chase! Chase! CHASE!!!” And I was like, you named your kid Chase, what did you think the two of you would be doing?
Dashed... someone beat u to it. Remember one of the Idaho college murder victims' name was "xana" .....her mom was a recurrent addict. Also, another upstanding human used to drug her baby so she could party. She told police that the nanny stole her...she claimed the nanny's name was "Zannie!" 😐
These kinds of names have one perfect use: pets. My cat's name is Rap Sheet because he's a naughty boy. No need to worry about school bullies when Felony is a dog!
Isn’t there a satire account that said she loved the name “Lydia” but want her daughter to have the same k sound as her name, so her daughters name is chlydia 😂😂
I laughed hard at Feta because in the Netherlans we have the name "Fedde" that sounds almost the same😅. The name is derived from the Frisian word "frede" meaning, peace.
Calorie Burns Feta Baker Asthma Weezer (Wheezer) Felony Bail or Bond Although I love your name for felony.. had me laughing. How the person above said it's very specific.😍😂
We have a coworker with Felonia as a lastname and we all call him Felony. Not gonna lie, he embraces the nickname so the whole company calls him that now
Sad but true. Back in 2017 there was a man named Fellony Hudson that got hit with several felonies. Just Google: Felon named 'Fellony' charged with new felonies. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@throughcolouredglasses9300it *is* a name, but it's the name of a woman in the Bible with some bad connotations. I'm not religious, but apparently after becoming queen of Israel, she had followers of God killed and enforced demon worship. Nowadays, it's used as an insult to describe immoral or sometimes promiscuous women. Not exactly sure where the last part came in, but she apparently married into her position (idk I'm googling all of this) so it might have to do with that?
@@vivixionWhoa waaat really? It's a common Filipino name, considering it's 2/3rds a Christian country, you wouldn't think they'd name their kids that back in the days :0
I had a high school teacher tell us that he once had a student named “Fragile” (but not pronounced “fragile”) and when asked where his parents got that name, he said his mom saw it on a box.😂
@@kittygoesWOOF I honestly can’t remember, it was like 10 years ago. (I literally sat here and racked my brain but still couldn’t figure it out) I remember when the teacher said it that it didn’t sound insanely abnormal and made me think of a different name that had a similar sounding ending. I do remember that the “g” was pronounced, now whether it was as a “g” or “j” sound idk.
💀 Not the "fragile" on box. In French, fragile on a box mean "handle with care". That's not supposed to be a name. Normally it mean "weak" in that case, the object in the box his "weak".
I will give them credit. At least they know these words DO have a meaning that probably ain't appropriate for a baby name! Plus, I honestly can't say any of these words are dumber than some baby names people are using!
As an non native English speaker, the first time I heard the word felony i thought it was a beautiful word lol And same for the word pregnant, i liked the sound of it and unfortunately freaked out my brother by saying “im pregnant” cause i heard it in a show lmao, he was like “WTF???!!! Hold up do you even know what that means???? Pls tell me you don’t!!!” “Huuum idk, why?” “Don’t say word like that you are 10yo 💀💀💀” and then proceeded to translate it to me 😅
wait I had to do a double take because the first time I'd hearrd it I also thought it was a name. sincee it's a disease (I think......?) mayybee it is thee name of the person who discovered it?
I thought Syphilis was a nice name and that day I learned a new STD lol I think I was 11 😅 I read “Syphilis was here” written on a wall while waiting in line for a roller coaster 😂😂
I would like to note that a decent number of those names sound good because they’re very similar to actual names (such as Felony sounding like Melanie)
Whole topic sounds really american to me. Wouldn't happen in Germany for example. Living here i can assure you aren't allowed to name your kid random words, brand names or cities. I guess from an american perspective it may seem pretty restrictive but I'm really glad someone is (to some extend) taking care that parents don't name their kids in a way that makes them target of being bullied. I almost chose the french name Filou for my child until i found out it was the name of an well known selfish unhonest movie character and therefore almost is like a curse name in France and therefore forbidden to give as a name (because its putting negative connotations on the kid). First I didn't know about that but didn't wanna take the risk so i chose an alternative. 😅
Marinara 😂 my 14 and 12 year old daughters were playing the "what we will name our kids" game and my oldest was making spaghetti and looked at the jar. lols ya, she thought Marinara was the brand name and was hooked.
There’s a common Arabic name called “Asmaa” (pronounced EssmaA with the first a being a long vowel and the last A being a hard stop short vowel like the first half sound of a in Apple) and it’s often pronounced “Asthma” by non- Arab speakers 😂 was always humorous to hear
The point is, when English is not your native language and you don't know translation of some of these words (or they sound not as in your mother language), these words actually sound very cute 😂
