@AbroadinJapan : Time machine with young Chris & Natsuki! Kind of shocking to see so many maskless people. I wonder what kind of COVID protocols are required with these cats these days...I wonder if there is a 3rd station master cat now... A follow up video?
I’m glad this video popped up because Chris has spoken about this documentary before and apparently he got some backlash for his comments but but I think he did a great job and it’s a very fun video 😆
This guy seems like a dog person. Not sure why dog people hate cats so much. This guy being so closed minded to cats, why did he decide to visit Japan which obviously loves cats a lot. So condescending and sarcastic about everything he was seeing. The word jerk came to mind several times while watching this. I love my cat and I hope to visit Japan one day.❤
Excellent documentary. I will say I would have preferred a host that had more cat-love vibe. The negative words about cats to an audience that probably is watching because they love cats is a bit disheartening. It's not unenjoyable because host is cool. Maybe just not for this subject. There are plenty of other RU-vid personalities who could appreciate ears and paws more. I think it also misses a potential perspective from those who can explore and view it or discovers in a different lens.
This host is constantly mocking the culture of Japan. 10 minutes into this mockery of a documentary, I had to turn it off. Don't talk about cats and the Japanese in such a condescending way, don't make a documentary when all you did was bash the people who love cats unconditionally. He obviously hated bring there, super bad choice of a host by this media company.
I checked the comments after 6 minutes to see if I was the only one who felt like this, definitely would have preferred a more respectful and cat-loving host for such an interesting topic
Chris talks so much about this documentary, but it's actually my first time watching it. Ps: Crazy how Chris in his 20s and Natsuki in his 40s look the same age.
❤What a beautiful documentary! 😅 Do you actually have a cat allergy? (I read it on the comments somewhere) And how 😼 ironic that now you have a beautiful fiancée who loves cats😂 and even owns cat themed hostels! ❤ Thank you so much for this masterpiece. I love cats! I live in Neuquén, Patagonia Argentina. There's only one pet friendly café here and there is a female cat there called Misha. I love going there to pet her and because that's the only café with gluten free vegan cakes!❤ I enjoyed this documentary to the fullest. It made my day! 😊Thank you Chris 😺
Hmmm... The tour might have been better presented by someone who actually likes cats. A cat lover wouldn't likely call a large display of maneki neko (waving cats which represent good fortune) as kinda "creepy". Or lack appreciation for a cat cafe's way of identifying them.
Brilliant documentary. Still don't understand why he got so many critics. Because he is very respectful, humble and make this documentairy also humoristic. Love to see young Natsuki and Chris together. Beautiful friendship. These critical people must've been sour. Also I am wondering if they drugged the cats in the stroller and the kittens for the photoshoots. Poor babies.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year of love for sharing smart tips and give the invisible cyber audience the chance to get inspired for new partnerships and new ways to help ourselves each other, cat-cure is amusing indeed, the most relaxing entertainment for the end of the year. ..fans are here to support such RU-vid channels and encourage you never give up being such good observers, we need to pay attention all the time, yeah, you can bet on it guys ❤🎉❤
This documentary needs a kind and humble host, this one has only negative opinion: "this is weird" "that is ridiculus"... if he doesnt like cats, why do this job??
We have cats that work in the U.K too, some that work for the post-office, some that work for railways & theatres, & are there to control mice & rats. There must be some that do that in factories, shops & offices too. I believe there are some that work at dentists & doctors offices to help calm patients. We used to have a cat that worked in our school kitchens at night to keep the rodents out.
I loved seeing the temples and the warm love the people have for cats. It reminds me of my pilgrimage to Fatima, seeing wax figure wishes and candles❤ It is annoying to keep hearing him say everything looks creepy and infantilize people's rituals. I've heard people say the same about Catholic saints and candles...it's sad that he lived in Japan for 5 years and hasn't been more open towards the culture.
I love the thorough tour of all the various cat places! Such a marvel to see. 私は日本の猫が大好きです。💖 Though I don't really appreciate his condescending, microaggressive attitude towards the cultural love for cats. His remarks about how "disturbing", "creepy", and "unsettling" the cat obsession in Japan is. It's actually a very good thing to appreciate the other life forms around us, so Japan is doing a great service by loving these intelligent animals.
Thank you for this documentary ❤. It’s so comprehensive and covers almost all about the Japanese culture which related to cats 🐈. Neko kawaii desu ne 🤩😻
You have a royal family, so ¿why can't japaneses adore cats? It is a matter of tradition, of shared culture. And not so difficult to understand. Uruguay
Expected fewer condescending comments from someone who lived for five years in Japan at the time of filming. It kind of ruined the fun and informative parts for me, and had to stop about halfway through. Thanks for trying to present your viewpoint though.
It seems kind of rude to refer to their dance as “ridiculous” or other things as “can’t take it seriously”. He is a guest in their land and it comes across as not only condescending, but unappreciative. I think their culture is charming and delightful.
I thought this would be an endearing look at Japan’s cat culture. Or at the very least objective curiosity. Instead it mocking, cynical criticism from a complete jerk. Quite ridiculous actually
My cats are my immediate family . And they ARE MY joy and peace of mind!!!even when they're slapping the shit out of each other. Pecking order you know!?
Well now I have to visit Japan and go on a cat pilgrimages 😻😻 I think they even have hotels where you have 2 cats sleep in the room with you there! Just wow. All the cats look so cared for 💕💕
You can tell Chris is not a cat-lover, he called a calico cat "he", he doesn't know how to interact with cats, he startled the cat by touching the top of its tail, and then blaming the cat that it doesn't like people 🤣
Hallo , ich bin begeistert über deinen Beitrag. Ich mag auch Katzen.. Vielen Dank , es hat mir sehr viel Freude gemacht mir das an zu sehen. Liebe Grüße und alles Gute weiterhin
This is one of my new FAVORITE cat documentaries. I am glad I stumbled on to this, I really do like RU-vidr Chris and his personality, this was a fun film, made me smile a lot. Another great addition to my Playlist collection that is proving that we are the victims of world domination by a bunch of furry four legged cute creatures who we naturally just cater too the minute they mew! Imma Cat Servant, however, I believe that I'm not the only one, everyone who "lives with" a cat or cats IS. I have come to the conclusion that the world is being taken over by cats and are born indentured into servitude with the knowledge we are to jump when we hear a cat MEW!🤨
Oh man you were so thin and young looking!! What happened to you in that 5 year span?!?! Lol!!! JK!! Loved the video ❤!!! And of course we love you!!!😊
