I had to go online to look for how to open the battery door and I found out that any cutterpillar made after 2019 has a different battery door. My hand is still tingling with pain from trying to open the door but I eventually got it open by using a rag to push the tab in and lift. I'm just hoping that those batteries last a long time before I'll have to fight with that door again!
Karen, thanks for your email. We have made this battery cover tighter because our earlier cover was too easily removed and often came off and was lost. So now it is more difficult to remove - but it can be done. I can see that you have watched our video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UQGWErkGTYc.html but push down much harder. You are trying to push the tabs out of the grooves holding it in. Here is what one customer wrote back to me as she finally successfully opened it: "I used an old store credit card to squeeze the clip at the opposite end to the arrow (the one which says open on it) and the cover popped out." And another: "The plastic does seem strong and flexible. Once I had the confidence to push it back hard on itself, it just popped out. Good luck with this. If you break the cover, we will be glad to send you a new one. Let me know how it goes. Sincerely. The CutterPillar Team
I have a new cutter, but can't seem to be able to open the battery door. I have pushed hard, but don't want to force it too much. Should I do anything with the flap (sticking out plastic tab at top right in the video), such as pushing it back and lifting?
Hello there! Sorry you hare having some trouble. We kept having issues with battery covers falling off so we reinforced it a little bit so you shouldn't ever lose it. With that, sometimes the first time to open it can be a little challenging. Don't worry about forcing it too much, just push really hard and slide it. Hope that helps!
@@cutterpillaradmin6854 Thank you for your speedy reply. The plastic does seem strong and flexible. Once I had the confidence to push it back hard on itself, it just popped out. All is now working fine. Thanks again.
