soapequipment.com Cutting cold processed soaps made in the Soap Equipment pro molds using their manual cutter and work bench! These tools are made in the USA and are original designs by Soap Equipment for 25 years! If you need professional equipment, they are the pros in the soapmaking industry!
This was my first trial and I may have done too much of a water discount, resulting in a soap a bit harder to cut. Next batch, I won’t so we can compare! This new equipment works differently from my present wooden mold and it is a learning curve for sure. I will keep you updated once I get my soap formula perfect for these molds.

Oh wow these seem super nice- but also pretty hard to use with that recipe, and it does limit your design choices as well
@ArianeArsenault
@ArianeArsenault 5 лет назад
TheDragonGirl actually, you can do a lot of designs! I just went for something easy to start with. My formula was also water discounted which I won’t do next time as it make cutting the soap more difficult
@TheDragonGirl

@@ArianeArsenault I like doing top decorations and hanger swirls! Itp and layers seem like they'd be pretty easy but not that XD, thats a good idea on the water discount.

@@ArianeArsenault yes it is too hard to cut soaps when it is water discounted. I could actually feel ur efforts as myself get tired with such a small batch itself. But a great applause for u. This can keep u evergreen maco women with good muscles and fit body lol

@@ArianeArsenault I don't know exactly what you call a water discount. I think AFTER 50/50 everything is adding water and there are differences of opinion about that but that is not my point and I actually think the opposite as to why it is sticking on you. Mind you I haven't made nearly as much as you I have studied what I do thoroughly and I have found that stickiness comes from different sources that come to play to create stickiness. Firstly and foremost it is from an emulsion that is not quite blended so you have slightly loose water that is left behind when drying. That would translate to soap sticking to the sides. At the same time, in combination with that, a choice of oils: Different oils create different heat. If you don't want to create as high of a heat to make it crack choose a different oil or different percentage of oil OR add more water but then you run the risk of soap sticking to the sides and making it more difficult to take the mold apart. This is my guess; I actually think that with that large amount you just thought you stick blended enough. Soap acts just like concrete. When its not mixed enough you get loose water and salt at the top. With me, I have noticed that it is more my choice of oils then my choice of water as to when I get stickiness. I also get it when I notice I didn't quite stick blend enough. Soap is still good and still the same. It is just that the less dense water is pushed to the outside and that creates stickiness instead of smooth soap.
@iwannaapple7190
@iwannaapple7190 4 года назад
@@ArianeArsenault One more suggestion: I imagine those wires are very similar to wires I would use. You may not see or feel the difference and may even think they are smooth but 50lb fishing test line will go clean through that soap much smoother and easier and will not break. I've used 30 lb fishing line on my soap before and it's like cutting butter and my soap is not soft when I cut it. Sometimes steel leaves behind small bumps because it is slightly rough and causes friction and that is one reason that could be making it difficult for you.

Great review, but I am not going to lie, I was very nervous for you while you where leaning over those guide rods for the cutter. Looking forward to perhaps an update with the new formula you have mentioned, no water discount, to see how much easier that works out. Maybe suggest to the company a safety cap for the tops of the guide rods. I know they are blunt ends but accidents can happen and I could see someone slipping possibly and falling on top of them when up on a stool like you where.

@@ArianeArsenault It is much easier and safer to have another person help you. We have been using this set up for about two or three years. It is much simpler with a second person. We have had a few very close calls with the guard rods. Also, make sure you do not rock the cutter when trying to break through the top, it will cause the bearings to break loose from the little round piece that guard rods go through. They are in the black ring on the blue piece.

When I tried making my first soap (a week ago :D) it was so hard to find palm oil free recipes as it's what I wanted to avoid the most. Using eco friendly palm oil is a sollution to that problem.

The hydraulic press to go with the cutter would be more ideal. I know it takes up real estate in your work space..... but having to apply that much pressure at elevated heights leaves room for staff including you to slip and fall. One workman's compensation claim can drive up your rates and you will end up paying more than the cost of the hydraulic press. Please be very careful when using that cutter.
