This is the twentieth installment of my build of the CV-6. In this video I am continuing the build of the island, or island coning tower. There are a lot of details that will be added to the island. This video contains painting and assembling of the main part of the island.
The build is based on the Trumpeter 03712 kit with detail up sets from Pontos and KA-models; trying to use the best of both sets.

So glad I found this. Unfortunately, there is no specific PE set for Yorktown 1/200 apart from what was in the box. So I have to scratchbuild especially the bridge antenna part. Wanted to ‘rush’ the build at some point ( ongoing since 2021 ) but your build gave me new inspiration to do it properly. Never knew about the KA plane detail up so ordered that too. Bridge is now at the same stage as yours (without LED). Many thanks again for uploading. Saved my project.

Hey, very informing Videos! If it's not too much extra work, would you mind making a list of recommended products? You do mention glue, decal softener and others in your video but I seem to have difficulties finding the specific product you used. Always looking for better glue and such. Tusen takk.

Thank you! I mention a lot of the products I use in the "Tools for working with photo etch". I will try to compose a list of products I use and can recommend. Bare hyggelig :-)

What kind of spray booth are you using in this video it looks interesting with running water?
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 11 месяцев назад
It is a model from Panzag with a water curtain. The good thing is that the water catches overspray, so it doesn’t clog up the filter as quickly as with ordinary booths.

I've never used E6000 for PE. Does it have a relatively good working time before it sets up?
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench Год назад
Yes 5-10 minutes depending on the temperature. 24 hours to fully cure.

Why is there water running in the back of your airbrush painting area ?
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench Год назад
It’s a water curtain that catches overspray in the spray booth.
@ninus17
@ninus17 Год назад
@@NorwegianModellingBench huh i have Never heard of that before. How exactly does it work
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench Год назад
@@ninus17 The overspray is caught by the water, then goes through a filter in the bottom. There is a regular fan and filter as well for the fumes.
@ninus17
@ninus17 Год назад
@@NorwegianModellingBench cool. Where did you buy it ?
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench Год назад
@@ninus17 I bought it at a Norwegian web store. It is a Panzag model, but I guess you can find similar spray booths from other brands as well.
