CV-6 TBD-1 Devastator

This is the sixteenth installment of my build of the CV-6. In this video I am building the third and last part of the air group, the torpedo bombers, TBD-1 Devastator. I am building them based on the KA-models 1/200 WWII US Deck Plane Set II.
The build is based on the Trumpeter 03712 kit with detail up sets from Pontos and KA-models; trying to use the best of both sets.

great work, keep it up! I got my swing stand finally, so my build is getting closer to be started... One tip of advice if I may, not really a modeling one, but sound wise, buy a micraphone FIFINE T669, we use them on our podcast, cheap and a quality product. You would highly improve your sound quality

Thanks Ignas. I know that the sound isn't too good, but better than nothing. I have actually ordered the microphone you refer to, but I am still waiting for it. Hopefully I will have it in a week or two. Thanks for the feedback :-)

Great stuff. I’m currently building the Yorktown 1/200 so will be stopping by for tips as you are clearly one level up. But I’m doing pretty well seeing your videos so this is good for my confidence.

Really nice work. I have the KA set for my Enterprise but after you, Nigel and Midwest Model Shop talked about the Pontos set I ordered it to. I should have it in a few days. I am really looking forward to seeing how you handle installing the wood deck with its PE. I have not started mine yet but the deck is the one thing I’m not to sure how to proceed. Thank you for your great videos.

Thank you, great to hear that you like them. The Pontos set is far better than KA for this one, but also quite expensive. Take a look at the "Flight Deck" installment to see how I proceeded with that one. Good luck!
