Cyberpunk 2077 plays WAY better on Steam Deck with these settings - FSR 2.1 and Patch 1.61

After hearing about the new FSR 2.1 update and Steam Deck verification I decided to share my ideal Cyberpunk 2077 (version 1.61) controller and game settings for the Steam Deck. CD Projekt RED's native controller settings have always felt off and half-baked to me, so I aimed to fix it via my own Steam Input community profile that uses gyro and RS as mouse instead.

I'm so glad I found your channel. As a mainly FPS player on PC, I thought playing those games on the Steam Deck would be painful. You are indeed one of the best SD content creators on RU-vid and I hope the hard work will pay off.

You're one of the best Steam Deck content creators on RU-vid. What makes your channel special is how you focus on the unique aspects of the Deck that other channels aren't focusing on, such as gyro controls (with hand cam), and seeing how older games, like FEAR, Deus Ex, Duke Nukem Forever, etc, run on the system. I think you should continue to focus on the gyro aiming aspect of the Steam Deck, as that does seem to be a niche you've carved for yourself and seems to be getting you the best views. Your channel and vibe kinda reminds me of RambleTan, who makes Steam Controller content; I really enjoy that style of content. Keep up the good work!

@@zerocore_last time I tried cyberpunk it was verified on deck but UI elements were so small I couldn't read button prompts in the tutorial. Has that been fixed all I could find was a nexus mod.

@@Spencerwalker21 i wouldn’t use FSR anyway. The performance gains on the Deck are ao minimal its not worth it imo

Please note I play inverted. So just disable that from the steam input layout if you don’t like that.

I'm honored! Questions: Do you need to run the Post Deploy after updating? Did you just run Pikdum's tools as is? I thought there were some Skyrim file paths in there. But looks like you didn't have any issues? Thanks for trying this on Cyberpunk2077! I'm a huge fan of it!

For Cyberpunk I didn’t have to run any post deploy. With the exception of red4ext needing a special launch option to stop the game from crashing, everything just work like it would on Windows 10 with Vortex. :)

My game is on Internal storage (I don't have an SD yet) Installed vortex (which is really clucky cause once I exit it I have to edit the config file for it to launch ) When I click on manage Cyberpunk Vortex asks for me to locate the game's directory which is impossible cuz its in a hidden path (.local) . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks!

I don’t own the Witcher 3 so unfortunately I’m not familiar with where the controls could be improved for that game. Edit: Happy to hear my settings helped with stutter. If you haven’t already I would highly recommend running Cryo utility on your Steam Deck to squeeze more performance and more stable frame rates out of your steam deck on the high end: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7RPAxT7HJ7Q.html

If you have this game on GOG like me , I wasn’t getting similar performance. You have to disable the launcher because it absolutely eats up performance

I had it installed on the internal memory, but most compatible SD cards are fast enough for Cyberpunk.

@@Abotix_ you might have to copy/paste the path from SteamOS into vortex then. (Remember to change the ‘/‘ to ‘\’ in a text editor.

Dunno why but I can’t get this performance. It’s better than most setting a surely but in the city it constantly dips below 30fps. More like 24-26 ish. Do any of the mods improve performance perhaps?

Very strange that the layout is not working. Try restarting your Steam Deck and then try to install the layout *before* you launch the game. That sometimes helps.

Did you install CET as a mod? It will ask you one time to bind a key to bring up the CET console while in-game

It eats the battery for breakfast like most AAA titles that came out in the last 3 years. I get 1 hour and 15 minutes out of it on a full charge with this game.

Hey guys! I just tried re-uploaden the layout. See if you can find it. I recommend you do a full restart of your steam deck first. I’ve had issues in the past with the community layout list not updating unless I do a restart.
