Cycling on a Brand New Bike Path from Kirkby to Maghull North Station

A cycle path opened in early 2021 from Kirkby towards Maghull in northeast Merseyside. The path is generally wide and smooth and of good quality. This is really game changing as these roads would have been a big barrier to most people cycling before.
However disappointingly the nice path ends before reaching Maghull itself, throwing you back onto a busy road. A few hundred metres more path would make a huge improvement.
I filmed a ride from Kirkby town centre to Maghull North railway station.

My first thought was, oh a shared path. My second thought was, those roads look deadly, a shared path is far better than nothing.

Considering the rural location a shared use path should be fine because foot traffic won't be too high. Its plenty wide enough for the volume of cycle and foot traffic I think. Compared to before its like night and day!

@@Phil_Marshall_ I get it, it's good to see pavements become shared use in places like this. I cycled to a woodland just outside London a couple of months back and the only safe route was on the pavement. The icing on the cake was a sign after a mile telling drivers to expect cycles on the junction ahead. There and back I saw one pedestrian, I helped her avoid getting splashed by passing cars.
