This is a cyclists guide to the Trek Commuter Pro RT and covers how to pair lights, toggle flash bypass mode, enable powerbank mode and do a full factory reset. The light has a simple two-level menu with short presses reserved for switching output modes while long presses for different lengths of time enable secondary features.

Thanks for the video it helped me carry out the pairing. One thing to note is that mine did not work at first no matter how many times I tried. To solve this do the factory reset covered at the start of the video first, then all works as detailed in the vid.

No problem. Good tip on doing a factory reset first - that should ensure there is no previous pairing history.

Once commuter pro and flare have been paired. If I switch from beam to flash, would that change flare to go from beam to flash? Or it only controls on/off?

It only controls the power on / off functionality. A single press changes the headlight mode only. As long as you aren't changing modes very often it works out really well. You should also be able to use the ambient light sensor mode on the Flare RT to automatically switch between day/night modes.

Can the Commuter pair with more than one Flare at a time? Was thinking of getting a second rear Flare for the back of my helmet.

I believe it's only designed to pair to a single device. Does it pair with a red tail light (bontrager flare RT)? It is not doing it on mine.

Yes, it should pair with the other RT lights like the Flare RT. If you're having trouble getting it to pair it's possible the Commuter Pro RT has a stored paired device already and/or the Flare RT has Bluetooth disabled. To clear the syncing cache it just take the Commuter Pro RT somewhere away from other lights, activate syncing and let it time out. The Flare RT should have a flashing blue light every 15 seconds if Bluetooth is enabled - if not turn the Flare RT off and then hold power button for 15 seconds until you see the second flash to toggle it on/off.

I bought two trek pro rat light sets one of them has 4 fuel lights after full charge the other light has 5 fuel lights ???? Is one defective?

To my knowledge you should see 5 LEDs for both lights if they are both fully charged. I've had issues with the Bontrager Flare RT fully charging and have had other people commenting on it. Maybe you need to plug it in a few times or use a different cable to get it completely to 100%.
