CZ 457 LRP - Eley semi-auto Benchrest Outlaw - IBI barrel - Ammo Test
In this video I will test Eley semi-auto Benchrest Outlaw 22 long rifle rimfire ammunition to see how well this highly regarded ammo performs in my CZ 457 LRP. I have installed an Olympic contoured barrel from IBI as well as a flat blade Timney CZ 457 precision Trigger.
The test will be compressed of 40 shots in total all fired from the prone at 50 years. I will be recording shot data including (SD, ES, Highest, and lowest velocities, as well as the average velocity) of the ammunition tested. every test begins with 10 fouling shots from a clean barrel bore, followed by 4 - 5 shot groups and the 5th and final group will consist of 10 shots adding up to 40 total shots fired.

I was able to finally find this & the precision at very affordable price with shipping. I red the description as it was stated that the Precision is for firearms with custom barrel & the outlaw is for those that are original manufacture barrels. $11-$7 US difference so I chose the less expensive Outlaw as instructed. Your testing & groups are very promising. Thanks! I’m trying to avoid RWS R-50, R-100 & Lapua Super Long Range for now. They also have ELEY Contact & Force @ $5 a box of 50. So I now have some low cost varieties to try soon. 😉

Another great video. My ibi barrel is sitting under the Christmas tree. But I'll have plenty of info by then, thanks to you . Also have an oryx chassis next to the barrel. I feel like I'm 10 yrs old again.

Always enjoy your videos. Ammunition has promise. Flyers are so frustrating! The better ammo is getting harder to find down here in the states. I just snagged 2 bricks of RWS R50 last night. My LRP always enjoys it...and what it likes, I like.

I have a couple lots of Norma Tac-22 and Norma Match-22 ammo that shoot the same way....get some crazy tight groups for relatively cheap ammo. Then I get those crazy fliers that make me scratch my head. Some people get sucked in by the tight groups....thinking it is just as good as HIGH priced, Quality ammo. Thanks for the video...Looks COLD!!! LOL!!!

Great shooting, great review. I picked up a new LRP at auction a few weeks back. Has an sightron STAC 4-20x50 on it. It shoots pretty well for the small selection of ammo I've run through it. I'm by no means an experienced "target shooter". But I do want to hit my aim point. I've tried Center-X, CCI standard, CCI suppressor, SK pistol match, SK standard, Eley Match, Aguila Super Extra and Wolf target. I've found the SK pistol match and Center-X are the most accurate. The rest seem to be on par with each other. I would like to upgrade the trigger at some point, not sure if the barrel upgrade is in my budget... Thanks for a great video!!!

I have a question about your Barrel I wondered if you put that on yourself and how easy it was or if you need any special kind of tools Etc thank you very much

It's an easy install. You just need the Allen key to loosen and tighten the set screws connecting the barrel to the receiver. Very similar to a 10/22. You do need to be mindful of the aluminum feed ramp inside the receiver. The barrel has a flat that needs to clear and sometimes you need to loosen the mag well to do it. I do it on my couch watching Bro Tuned videos.

Yes it’s a very simple install! If you can remove the stock you can swap barrels. Only special tool I’d recommend would be a torque wrench. Not 100% needed but recommended for sure because accuracy is basically just attention to detail and consistency
