V srpnu 2019 se na stránkách ministerstva obrany ČR objevila zpráva, že dojde k zakoupení 8 kusů Bell UH-1Y Venom (společně se 4 kusy Bell AH-1Z Viper) pro Vzdušné síly Armády České republiky. Smlouva byla podepsána 12. prosince 2019 ministrem obrany Lubomírem Metnarem, dodávky měly začít v roce 2023. V srpnu 2022 oznámila ministryně obrany Jana Černochová (ODS), že armáda dostane od USA další 2 stroje spolu s 6 AH-1Z Viper zdarma. První UH-1Y byl na české území přepraven 17. srpna 2023.

Die Kampfhubschrauberflotte wurde in den folgenden schreittweise reduziert und zuletzt wurde nur noch die Variante Mi.35 geflogen. Nachdem die ersten Exemplare des Nachfolgemodells AH-1Z bereits im Sommer 2023 auf der Basis eingetroffen waren, wurden die Mi-35 im Oktober 2023 außer Dienst gestellt. Die ersten der ebenfalls neu beschafften UH-1Y waren ebenfalls einige Wochen zuvor eingetroffen.

Bell AH-1Z Viper je americký dvoumotorový bitevní vrtulník, který byl vyvinut na bázi stroje AH-1W SuperCobra. Zkonstruován byl hlavně pro potřeby americké námořní pěchoty, která ho zařadila do služby v roce 2010, ale později si našel zákazníky i na zahraničním trhu.
