Kevy, it just so happens that I have both of those razors. Just finished a shave with that cap/plate combination. Excellent. When I used the DOC YAQI, it was so mild I figured it would be a dust collector in my den. But now, this just might become my everyday shaver. I'm glad you posted this video. It gave me an awesome shaver that would have otherwise never been used. Cheers Kevy!

Thanks for the link. I ordered "the beast" head and it just gave me a great shave. Definitely on par with the 2011 Muhle R41 aggression & I agree it's smoother. Normally I find open combs to be a less than desirable shave but this head just made my day.

Nice shave Kevy 😌👏 I remember James Riley saying quite a while ago that he was going to start a second line of soaps where he wasn’t constrained by the limitations he places on himself with his OSP range. That razor looked fun, as we’ve both said before, that’s the advantage of a 3 piece razor rather than a 2 piece like a 34C. That brush is gorgeous, awesome craftsmanship. Great shave, Kevy. You are a brave man. You should have used an Astra or a Wilkinson​ Sword, but a Feather? And don't let poor Riley crying, just step out, grab him, give him some screen time, and go back to your shave. He'll be very happy if you do that.

Hey Kevy, George from Western Canada just thought I’d mention that I’d tried that little experiment with a Yaqi Open Comb top razor plate and tried it on the bottom plate of my RazoRock MJ90 and wow what a difference it had in gap exposure very aggressive almost close to my Muhle R41 but not topping it. Got a great shave out of it, Thanks for the tip. Also there was something on Rud’s shaving about the new Rockwell Model T razor well I might regret it but I bit the dust and bought one at the time I paid $99.00 for mine just before the price increased to $195.00 dollars now mine you I’ll have to wait until August before I receive mine now Ruds complained of razor chatter in the Model T so I”ll be looking for that but when I get my ModelT I’m going to try using a Shim Razor as well as a regular razor blade just to see if it would help reduce the chatter in the razor itself Now I’m not going to even try an convince someone else into buying this razor but just thought I’d put that out there. So if it works I’ll let you know. Also If you heard or haven’t heard there is another safety razor out on the market called the Christopher Bradley Karve Safety Razor a three piece razor and it comes with quite a few different plates on it from plates A thur E made in Canada I just got mine with a C plate and that razor without being aggressive is damn efficient it is a great shaver so if that’s something that interests you go on line at KarveShaving.co or com as it sells for a little over a One Hundred Dollars go watch Cris at Another Cut Above as that’s the only razor he is using at the moment. Somebody get a leash on that razor! Before it gets to the children!! A fantastic Frankenstein of a shaver! I had no idea James Riley was behind D'Ardenne. His tireless proficiency knows no bounds. What a magnificent lather, and performance. I am thinking the Parker blade may have had more smoothness, with less bite. But who am I to get in the way of experimentation? James' OSP line are brilliant performers. I will need to try this new venture at once! Leave it to Kevy to lure me into buying more gear. Then again, I wouldn't have discovered these wonderous products without his assistance. Plentiful balm container too! It sounds like Riler needs a nail trim. According to my groomer, you shouldn't hear the nails on the floor. Hopefully Mrs. Kevy was at the Chippy! Break out the malt vinegar!.Enjoy your weekend, mate! I hope it remains sunny and breezy.

A Timor open comb head with a SLOC cap (Italian Barber or Yaqi) is awesome. Loads of blade exposure that must be respected.

Ive not used a feather blade yet though I,ve been trying the cold water shave . I don,t know if its because I,m being extra careful but it does seem to be a closer more refreshing shave , with less weepers .

Great shave. The feedback from the Yaqi OC razor sounded like a Lamborghini car when it goes fast. Just to be literal about it. I'll check out the OSP website and research on their soaps

Good afternoon Kevy! Sorry about not commenting on your videos for awhile. Life here is interfering with my time to watch videos. That Darn Rob brush is so fantastic. I bought two of Rob's brushes...one for me...one for my youngest son (as he trick to nick mine a few times). Yaqi Beast Razor: Interesting idea...good luck! lol. A word on shaving soaps: The Artisan soaps made now are much superior in lather and scent to the vintage. However, I love the ease of using the vintage and I don't mind the tallow soap scent/smell of those classics. One area where the vintage shine is the post-shave feel...superior is the only word to describe it. Wow...the Yaqi Beast is removing the growth and first layers of skin! You said it feels aggressive, but is it smooth? If you can compare the smoothness, which razor is comparable? You are right, the Muhle R41 isn't the most comfortable razor to use and the facial skin can feel raw after a shave...even with proper technique. My thoughts on the R41 is despite its lack of comfort (harshness), it does deliver a BBS shave that lasts into the 30th hour after a shave. Hell yeah, I can hear that audio feedback...it is cutting the whiskers and everything else...taking no prisoners. I am hoping for a wet shavers meet-up in late-August to mid-September 2019 at the Gentlemen's Groom Room...I have made some reservations...have sailing dates and such. I do hope to meet Arthur, Ian, and you. I had to laugh...you said you didn't cut yourself...with a face oozing blood from at least 3 places. "I didn't cut myself" Aye, right! Oh, yes, call them weepers or pore bleeds. I tell people you can get closer than blood, so judging by that standard you indeed had a very close shave. lol. Take care mate.

Hi Kevy, how would you compare this to the Rockwell 6S with baseplate 5/6? I have the Yaqi Beast too and quit like the feel and sound of the blade. The Rockwell is on my wishlist, but I would like to know if it can produce a similar blade feel and sound as the Yaqi Beast? I realy like your videos, keep going like you are! "I Did Not Cut Myself He Said" Weepers, weepers everywhere but I did not cut myself he said... One drop, two drops, three there was blood upon his head but I did not cut myself he said... I think Kevy has had one close shave too many or perhaps fell upon his head because the alum block stung his face but he I did not cut myself he said... An aggressive razor made from Two and Number 8 in duo all of this he applied upon his head and repeated again I did not cut myself it was only a weeper or two and an aggressive shave I do not usually enjoy but on this occasion: OH BOY I DO. And Kevy left with a smile on his face because, I did not cut myself he said.... :P

That was the loudest feedback I have ever heard in a shave!!
