Basically as your constitution goes up, so does the time you can hold you breath. No rolls involved. Our party found this out the hard way in a collapsing temple escape (which was on fire) through an underwater maze. Our DM probably hates our guts.

Chaotix Fox yes. Forcing it to kill itself is a good idea. However a tarrasque is truly immortal by normal rules. The way to actually kill it permanently is to kill it and wish away its immortality in the second it's dead and thus no longer immune to such power.

I just find it weird in that I wonder if that's even possible. By strict D&D rules, sure. It's just that shouldn't the Tarrasque go limp upon knocking itself unconscious and thus stop itself from killing itself? Does the control effect allow it to keep on choking itself even after it's unconscious? But then, I guess it did.

Plus there is the symbolism of her placing Terrasque limbs upon herself and controlling its might, it all feels like subtle foreshadowing to me.

It's 3.5e, the Tarrasque can regenerate every part of its body. The Tarrasque also use to be captured underneath the town. I think they're from THIS Tarrasque. By strangling it she also couldn't have killed it, only subdued it, so she could put it back in the magical cage. It was probably there for more than just having it captured.

Stupid Story Back Story: One week in the middle of our Fallout DnD Game, my synth couldn't make it, so we tried to have a standard DnD one off. We had a Thief, an Asshole Mage, and a Stubborn Ranger. All we had to do was go to a castle, Kill a Dragon, and get the Loot. Our Mage decided to make us look around Town and steal shit. Because a castle of loot isn't enough... We raided a gard Outpost, ate at a Denny's and burned it to the ground, and raided a armor shop. Eventually we got to an inn and had some trouble. The mage tried to make the rogue turn on the ranger so they could have more treasure, so the ranger punched the mage. The mage poisoned the ranger. And the rogue stabbed the mage in the back... Literally. The ranger tried to shoot the mage but missed and hit the rogue. Everyone was criticalled... Things Are Going Great... The party had a truce so we could heal and continue, but not before the mage keeps the rogue's dagger. The party went to the armory to buy/steal some Weaponry. The rogue stole and sold the mage's staff so the mage bought it back... And stabbed the rogue with his own dagger through the neck. The mage rushes for the ranger but the guards are too quick and incapacitated the mage. The ranger, in Guard Leftenant armor, tells them to arrest the mage. As the mage is kneeling on the ground, the Ranger Executes him with a Blunderbuss. The guards are furious, and the ranger surrenders so the game would be over. The twist ending was going to be that the treasure and goddess were an illusion. So the Mage TPKed his team for nothing. Then, a week later the Synth decided to go crazy...
