My dad and I don’t talk anymore but I imagine a world where we make up and I show him all the music that got me through middle school and High school. Appreciate you guys
Mine was never around then I tried to connect with him. I lived with him for 2 weeks and saw he hadn't changed. A real POS to everyone. Massive manipulator and liar like Drake lol. But yeah eff that dude. He died a few years back. Whatever. Literally never in my life. Not even same country.
Kid Cudi makes music that absolutely moves people. His fan base isn’t gigantic like other artists, but I feel we are much more in touch with Cudi and his music compared to other artists and their fans because of how personal his music is. Not many artists who can say they’ve saved lives on the scale Cudi has.

This is my favorite album of all time. It helped me through good and bad times. His messages gave me strength to know others are going through the same things I am. This album has hits on hits. I will always go back and play this album start to finish. Best song is Cudi Zone. Can't wait for you to play him MOTM 2
Kid Cudi is a savior to many people including myself. He shows that you arent alone with the struggles you go through and that he experienced the same thing
I've been watching since To Pimp A Butterfly and I've been waiting for you guys to cover this album. I love the way you can bridge the gap with your father. Much love fam, keep up the great work.
I only really properly delved into cudi’s music a couple of years ago. But I completely fell in love with the man on the moon albums, especially this one. Loved seeing pops’ reaction! This album still moves me every time I hear it which makes it a timeless classic
you should ask your dad how he feels about rap at this point. Is it more versatile than he expected? does he feel he could recommend rap to others? Is it nice to listen to with you but he doesn't want to listen on his own? etc... Great reaction as always
My parents are 1000% Mexican and and I cant really open up to them due to the language and cultural barrier since i was born and raised in the US. My dad is a musician for cumbia music and I jam to it but for me rap and hip hop was always #1. I couldnt imagine sitting down with my dad and discussing my fave music - ive tried but work, being busy and all that ya know. Everyone gets something from this awesome channel, yall dont get the appreciation thats deserved but it will come. I feel like a lot of ppl get something but maybe your dad can put you on his music and have yiu react 😂
This album came out my Freshman year of high school and it was perfect. I had been going through depression for a year at the time and felt like I could actually relate to a rapper when Cudi came on the scene. He’s been one of my favorite artist since even seen him perform in 2017.
This album and MOTM2 are absolute classics. I probably know this song word for word more than any other album, except maybe Capital Punishment. The Common narration is wonderful, the vibes all around are great and it just flows like water.
Damn, Soundtrack To My Life hits differently now. Ever since losing my mom, it's been difficult. I mean I think I'm past the worst maybe. But it's still something I will never fully get passed. I dunno. I appreciate Cudi for creating a classic. So nostalgic. I remember being obsessed with this album at the time. He truly inspired so many artists that came after. Even inspired Kanye multiple times. Glad he brought him on. Gave Cudi a chance.
53:47 A "cap" is a mushroom cap and a stem is the stem of a mushroom. The cap is the most potent due to more psilocybin being produced in that area while the stem is more mild. Basically he's taking a mushroom trip with a woman he likes and it along with the sex will unite them. I heard this song years ago and just realized what it was about now when I looked at the lyrics. I didn't listen to it much back in the day and I hadn't taken shrooms at that point either so I didn't know the lingo. I liked the album overall but I gravitated towards Soundtrack to My Life, Solo Dolo, and Cudi Zone (which was probably my favorite). Another good reaction ya'll. I grew up to a lot of these artists you react too and I'm an artist myself so I know a lot of the technical aspects of poetry and emceeing whenever you want to know something (been writing rhymes for 20 years). Take care✌ Edit: I paused the video at the part where you though it was about popping pills but you figured it out after lol All good. Still it's something I didn't know about the song when I was in my early 20's.
Watching it a little after the premier, but when Sr asked if Cudi is considered a rapper my reaction was that I would consider him as well as many others now a days as hip hop artists. They obviously can rap but can also sing and are more known for the combination rather than one or the other. Cudi, Ye, Mac Miller and Travis Scott are a few of those that come to mind that would fit this description imo. Loving the videos by the way!
Couldn't help but notice your dad mention War of The Gods. That song is absolutely amazing. I've always wanted to sample and flip it lyrically and musically. Shout out to your dad for that mention 🔥🔥🔥
Day n Nite being a single I listened to way too much, I avoided it for so long. Now Im vibing, smoking and I feel him. I finally understand him more. I'm there now. I'm not bragging. It is what it is but it's past 1am, I'll be up for a few more hours, just chilling by myself. It's when I feel at peace the most. Side note: the Crookers remix was my shit too. Gott thank Midnight Club: Los Angeles for that. Great soundtrack! ❤
Amazing reaction video, this album is my favorite of all time, it has no misses on it! Albums that you should review next: Encore by Eminem because it’s starting to gain more popularity, Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z because of how much of a classic it is now, and D2 by Future to show him modern trap! Amazing reaction as usual! Keep going strong!
Higher is the best song on here because it’s a Bone Thugs N Harmony interpolation …. Cleveland Stand Up!!!! He’s from Shaker but that is a Cleveland song for sure…. Shout Out Chip!!!
:) y’all reactions to the classics are so dope! It’s always fire to see how your pops takes in these projects that are so close to our hearts for the first time. I wish I could rehear some of these for the first time. Needless to say….. W POPSSSSS!!!
i agree with your thoughts on this being the best project of his. mine is personally passion pain & demon slayin and MOTM2 but i do agree this is the most consistent album all the way through with the transitions and the Common storyline at the end of most songs. this one easily flows the best all the way through the album. PP&DS and MOTM2 just give me so many more memories with the darkness in the production and lyrics but i don’t at all disagree with anybody saying this is their favorite album of his
For your next reaction I think you guys should do John Legends debut album get lifted it was imo one of the most underrated r&b albums of the 2000s and one of my favorites of that era
