one of my favorite songs that uses this tuning doesn't get talked about a lot, it's Estate Sale by Tommy Boys. Incredibly fun to play from what I've been able to memorize from a tab their guitarist posted to facebook, unfortunately the band only released one album before disbanding but it's truly one of my favorites

I like the Western/Surfy trem bits between the melodies -- especially with the reverb you have going -- cool bit of genre blending

Andrea Loves Horses is a great math rock song that uses this tuning. There is a live video of Victor Villarreal playing it.

How do you get such clean contact on every note? Do you have a compressor and low action?

I'm using a compressor. The action isn't too low otherwise there'd be a bunch of fretbuzz. I tend to give quite a bit of relief in the neck and have the action about 1.5mm off the 12th fret. I find this was thw action can be quite low with no fretbuzz. It's worth mentioning though that every guitar and player is different so I recommend experimenting to find what works for you 👍

i had first heard this tuning in Scarlet by Periphery, it's tuned down a whole step, so it would be CGCEGD only until recently did i find out that a lot of math rock songs use it too

So I have be playing guitar for about 5 months now and want to explore other tuning. Is it much different from how you play standard tuning or do those scales in standard tuning transfer to other tuning?
