@@lovetalesedit exactly...I think many people hoped they would jump on each other at first sight and yes, that would have been hot and romantic and all, but not realistic after what they've been through. They had a different life for 10 years, children, lovers and are mourning a loss right now. They don't even know if the other person has found a new love.

@@Dunesnow I totally agree. First i also expected that they would jump on each other tearing off clothes))). But then I realized that it would be not realistic. We are changing with age, become wiser, but also more carefull. And they have portrayed it beautifully and realistically

Yeah exactly, it was tender and soft like they were getting used to the idea that they can now actually have each other. At this point in their lives, they're both at a low and having spent 10 years of longing. It shows that after this, they start to get back to being who they are with their fire rekindled and knowing they have the other by their side

Damon always loved first as a uncles then as a friends and confidants and then as the heir the the 7 kingdoms then again as the heir and then as lover and family as husband and father of her children and Rhy has always him as well they had a bond that couldn’t be broken and the greens tried first by trying to turn the king against Damon then having er named heir in his place then telling how he stole her little brothers eggs to give to a whore and then by telling if his murder of his first and second wife yet none of that broke their bond she flew to get the egg cause she knew she was the only who could without death and he didn’t kill her cause she was the only one besides his brother he loved and yea Damon can love didn’t love much or many his brother his dragon and his niece and she was his perfect mate because a dragon can only love another dragon without being burned

i think he has an inner desire to open himslef to her and share what is on his heart. Because despite a relative happiness with Liena he clearly felt rejected by his family and not sattisfied with that sort of life... He wanted and was born for something more then what he had those recent years. IMHO

@@lovetalesedit I read under another comment section, that Daemon always searches for a "home". That rings true to me. Taking this into consideration, he only seems to feel at home by the side of his brother and Rhaenyra. At the same time, he likes to feel powerful, so the court is the place to be as center of the realm. So it is also what you said as well, he imagined his life, if not completely different, but different enough to be not altogether happy with his second wife

I agree on the sentiment with feeling at home. I sensed he didn’t have that with Laena, physically or emotionally; moving around from one place to another with her and his children didn’t help either. Note that he didn’t explicitly say yes when Rhaenyra asked him if he loved her, so that indicated to me there was always something missing in his heart. Simply put, if you remove all the politics and put the drama aside, I think at the core Rhaenyra and his brother Viserys was ‘home’, the same for her as well. They are the same side of the coin.

He’s probably talking about Losing Laena.

In a way, I think he is reminding her ‘Hey, I know you’re a girl married to a gay guy so you broke the rules to get what you needed, but you’re not the only one who has suffered and been made to do things you didn’t want to do.’ Bc while he respected Laena, and I think to a degree he did care about her, he was also living in exile away from his brother, and bc of his past misdeeds, wasn’t allowed to marry Rhaenyra in the first place. And because he had too much pride he couldn’t ask forgiveness from Viserys, to be allowed to at least come back to King’s Landing for at least 10 years.

@@clownchan it’s not that I like incest but dude you gotta realize their relationship was one of the hundreds of thousands that came to be in order to preserve their specific bloodline & many others did so in the medieval era I’m sorry if you seem to understand this reality but it was 💯 plus it’s a show so I might room for a FICTIONAL incest couple but that doesn’t mean I’d dare support this in real life 💀 I’m not a fool but it’s a good tv show & it’s not a real happening.

None of them were children in that universe. Rhaenyra was 17 when she went to the brothel with him. Laena was 12 in episodes 1 and 2, and we were introduced to her again 4 years later, which makes her 16. In a world where they consider 14 is the aga where they are fit to get married. 16 and 17 are no way near children.

Laena told Daemon she knew she wasn't his first choice for a wife, and he didn't deny it. 'Happy enough' is not the same thing as HAPPY, full stop, unconditionally. Also, he had sex with Rhaenyra the same day as his wife's funeral, and married her a few days later. So, why would anyone think he was lying here?
