Aegon II did it too but it didn’t go too well. It was like daemon was (expectation) vs Aegon II (reality) Aegon ends up breaking both of his legs and Baela and Moondancer burn him so badly that his legs were twisted and bender inward. @@SmallTownResident i don't know by that point in the war i think Daemon may have wanted to die in the same way his first wife did he wanted to die Dragon rider's death.
For daemon, the best part about killing aemond was that he got to slay ottos grandson and Alicents son. It was his final fuck you to the both of them LOL
@@buzzkill36 they did not, in the end the only member of Aegon II’s bloodline to survive was his only daughter (Otto’s great-granddaughter and Alicent’s granddaughter) and she ended up dying just a few years later, and Aegon III (Rhaenyras eldest son with Daemon and her fourth overall) ended up king and would later on be succeeded by his brother Viserys II and his bloodline (since all current Targaryens are descendants of Vyserys II).
I hope they change it up and we get more back and forth between the two. Even scenes of them just missing one another. A Vhaegar chasing Caraxes scene in season 2/3 long before this final confrontation would be epic too.

Duality of Daemon, Callous, Sly and at the same time loved his brother Viserys and was loyal as fuck despite all the rebels he showed to him and loved him than all of his wives including Rhaenyra at the least since he's Viserys's daughter. This probably why he became very cold towards the greens since they were using Viserys for the throne. I'm yet to see a character in real life if not in real life, duality of like Daemon.
In the end Daemon win the war, all his children lived, Aegon and Viserys became kings, Baela became lady of Driftmark and Rhaena is the last dragonrider (before Daenerys)
No one won the war. Aegon III was left a distraught depressed man who died young due to the paranoia of those before him actions. Rhaenyra and Daemon went down as a terrible person who the Targaryens look back on in shame. It’s to the point where they wouldn’t even give her name to any descendent that came after her.
IF… IF they don’t trash it and bollocks it up, yes. Yes, it will. I hope they get it right. I also hope they show he and Caraxes walking through an empty, deserted Harrenhall together and Daemon making the 13 slash marks on the weirwood tree as he waits for One Eye
When reading this for the first time I imagined Daemon with a quick grin as Dark Sister exits Aemon’s skull. We see the brutal kill, Daemon grin, knowing he has won & is about to die, then BOOM, dragon’s slam into the water. I hope the show plays out like this! Reading it truly felt like watching a movie, absolutely epic.
From outside looking in, spectators would see Daemon as reckless and careless. In Daemon's point of view, he was extremely calculated and methodical in his approach to battle and war and took the necessary risk to win. One simply doesn't win countless one vs one and many battles by being reckless and careless. Daemon was the most skilled and feared warrior during his time before and during the DOTD and the only few times the show displayed his presence was the scene where he walked into the meeting with the Velaryon and the messenger gave him the letter. The second time was when he walked into the Throne room after winning that war. His presence illustrates the amount of fear and respect from his allies and enemies. I hope the show does him justice in the next seasons.
@@matthewlee4697he would’ve regretted not killing Otto Hightower and ever having kids with Alicent . He would’ve taken it all back and actually listened to Daemon when he was telling him Otto was a POS
Daemon figured that since he will never be king he may as well go out with a blaze of glory. Might as well defeat the next best warrior and the fiercest dragon while doing so. He’s goated for that alone

Ok wonder if they'll improvise this scene with Damon crawling out of that water downtrodden and howling with sadistic laughter. Now that could be a scene.
Only Daemon was the last true pure valyrian dragonlord. So stop your wet fantasies because Aemond was only a mediocre dragonrider. Not even close to the GOAT like Daemon
@@hereiam8hate to break it to you but Aemond is quite literally his only match and at such a young age, imagine if he had gotten older and even more experience, this is coming from a book reader
Daemon Was Warrior he Died as a Warrior. He Didn't Die With Anyone's Sword..... Similar His Dragon After the clash Vaghor Died in Water. But Caraxes Made his way till Land. And He Completed his Master's Order before Dead.
I have always seen this scene as Daemon committing suicide. I think when Rhaenyra tries to kill Nettles (believing that Daemon has betrayed her, which I totally think he did not) Daemon realizes that there will never be trust, love or understanding between them again, so life has no sense for him anymore, he feels old and tired. He knows he is going to hell but decides to take Aemond with him, also as a last act of loyalty to Rhaenyra, killing the biggest power in the green's side.
One thing I love is that Arya, in the books, was known to have LOVED the legendary sword Dark Sister, and she told the Hound once “one day, I’m going to put a sword thru your eye and out the back of your head…”. I think it was something she always wanted to do to someone ever since she read about Daemon killing Aemond that way with the sword of her dreams. I always wished they would have somehow found a way to make Arya somehow find Dark Sister and make it her own. She deserved it.
As much as I can't wait to see this scene be adapted in HOTD, I'm worried about how they'll pull it off. It could look amazing or it could look incredibly ridiculous.
Same!! This is the scene I’ve been dreading and anticipating the most. If they do it right it will be epic! I was a little worried by some of the dragon scenes in the first season because a lot of them weren’t great. Hopefully that’s just because they don’t have that big of a budget. The other scene is the second battle at Tumbleton with the three dragons fighting, that one will be hard to pull of also.
He fell 1000's feet in the air they also found his blade. He was death believe me. You think he just limped out of the lake and left westerors just like that? XD the body was just lost.
@Krovos_ I do but as I said Aegon went down om Sunfire and hit the hard ground and was burnt to the extent the armor melts into him, yet he lives. It that is possible, Daemon surviving a fall to the water may. Plus we don't know exactly how high they even are, although they are probably up there
I have been excited for House of The Dragon ever since there was a rumor it was a possibility because of this scene. The main threats from both sides of the war go head to head, all the tension comes to a climax. Daemon shows us what a badass he is, pulling something literally only he would have the guts to do. Daemon struck the killing blow to the other rider, but everyone involved dies when they hit the water. Fire and Blood was awesome, but we couldn’t really get the full story of The Dance because it’s an in-universe history book written by a Maester hundreds of years after it happened with only a few very biased sources to go off of. The characters sound cool, but now with the show we get to see them in their full glory, unfragmented by time and bias. I’m so freaking excited for the later seasons!!
I come back to this whenever I get sad about Luke. But then I think about Daemon and I get sad too 😢 Aemond only wish he could have reached the pinnacle of bad a***** as Daemon
daemon accomplished himself in every situation without much power with his skill and and small power of caraxes. But aemond got the biggest dragon and did not accomplish much with his skill it was otto and crispin cole with him who were very cunning plan makers.
@@justforyou667 that fact that you think aemond didnt accomplish anything speak you know nothing about achieving something, aemond had the courage to stand up to his bullies, had the courage to claim the powerful Dragon and was brave to fight and die, all before he turned 20. @@justforyou667 what did daemon actually accomplish by himself and not by the plot armor as thick as dragon skin? Speaking of Aemond, it took a literal Mary Sue to kill this badass
the most anticipated clash and I guess it could occur in the finale of season 2 or more likely in the finale of 3 (why don't you remember Martin said it would take 4 seasons to cover the whole dance story). And I really hope that the writers don't make Daemon survive because it would only be for the plot armor (yes I know his body has never been reworked but I strongly doubt that his body is left much since he fell from 700m in height while two dragons swooped down on him and Aemond's body was found only because it was still tied to Vaghar's saddle with chains that of Daemon was not and I remember that the eye of the gods is the largest lake in all of Westeros and at that time the divers were not so it is obvious that his body was never found) and would go against their famous exchange where it was clear that Daemon wanted to commit suicide to kill Aemond and Vaghar.
We actually don’t know what happens to daemon for sure. The book is written 100 years after the conflict. There are conspiracies Daemon actually survived the battle, and fled to Essos, seeking life of peace.
i think they assumed what happened by looking at aemond's corpse and there's some people watched the two prince fall so they might saw daemon jumping from his dragon
@@janellejulianajoy I could see that, although Daemon probably sees Aemond as himself but worse, where as he sees Aegon as everything Viserys wasn’t, which would piss Daemon off, cause he would see it as Aegon pretty much shitting on his brother's legacy, and if theres one thing we know about Daemon, its that the man loved his brother

The assumption that he's dead despite his body never being found is lazy crap writing by Martin. After Nettles, he was looking for a clean way out. Rhaenyra wanted her dead. They found Aemond's body and Vhagar in the water with Dark Sister still through his eye. Caraxes pulled himself out of the water then died. But Daemon, "nah he's dead. Let's not talk about him again."
Se habla en el libro desde la perspectiva de un maestre muchos años después. Así que sólo está relatando lo que se conoce ya. Siento que la intención de eso es dejar cierto grado de misticismo.
I mean we have stuff like that in the real world, it adds mystery and depth to the world building. Personally I think he died. With his dragon dying and with the rumors of Nettles and sheep stealer living wildly in the mountains of the vale and with the fall and impact I don’t see him surviving that. I’m assuming the show will shed more light on it though. We’ll see him sinking to the bottom of the lake or him climbing out of the water and walking away. Maybe Vhagar swallowed him up before dying 😂 also they found Aemond because he was chained to his saddle on Vhagar who sank to the bottom of the lake.
Daemon died, there’s no way he could survive that. He died the way he wanted, he planned it that way. He knew how he was going to kill Aemond since he didn’t chain himself to Caraxes, the plan went flawless and he knew he was gonna die at the end . If Daemon survived he would’ve died shortly after from the injuries he surely sustained. Also if he somehow survived the whole thing, there’s no way he would’ve abandoned Rhaenyra or their children . Once Aegon III ascended the throne, Daemon without doubt would’ve been by his son .
Daemon kill Aemond for the same reason Aemond wanted to kill Daemon. Aemomd believed that all of Rhaenrya’s support specially in the riverlands was due to the lord’s fear of the rouge prince retaliation. Even after he burn fields, castles and murders villages of people the main lords of the Riverland still remain loyal to Rhaenrya. He told Criston if he was to take Daemon out the riverlands will fold to the greens. However, Aemond ignore who Daemon was. Daemon after setting Nettle free and leaving Maidenpool so that Aemond wouldn’t torch the town too he went to Harrenhal where he waited for 13 DAYS for Aemond and Vhagar to show up. When Aemond arrived he was surprised to see Darmon alone in the castle. The 13 marks left in the god’s tree bleed each year and Arya saw this in the nobles when she thought the old gods have spoken her. Daemon knew he needed to get rid of Aemond as he was burning the Riverland and daemon needed the winterwolves and Vale knights to make their way south to fight for Rhaenrya’s claim against lord Boros Baratheon and tyland Lannister’s fleet. So he took to the sky with a much larger dragon. However caraxes have flew with Vhagar since he was a youngster and rode side by side with Prince Aemon and Prince Baelon. Then they flew once’s more with Laena and Daemon. Caraxes managed to ripped out Vhagar’s thoat. While Vhagar ripped a wing and crawl on his belly. Caraxes corpse was found on the shore. Vhagar and Aemond sink to the bottom of the god’s eye and their bodies were recover one year latter where they retreat dark sister from Aemond’s skull. Daemon’s body was never found. Which allows his ending to be open as many saw Nettles flying in the caves of the vale before she disappear. Aemond sink cause he was chain to Vhagar, as Daemon wasn’t chain to caraxes.
That's what I was thinking. Like how do they know Aemond looked up in terror as Daemon leaped from his dragon onto Vhagar. However they do know for sure that Daemon drove dark sister into Aemond's remaining eye because years later Vhagar's remains wash up ashore and Aemond's skeletal remains was still saddled to it with dark sister still in his skull.
people should watch more foreign movies, asian movie to be exact. There's a trope that it doesn't matter if you died in the end, the goal is to kill. Daemon win even he have to died too. it's not a hard concept to understand smh. The one who get to act is the winner not the other. Vhagar fighting Caraxes, but Aemond didn't fight Daemon. He just sit there waiting for his fate. Daemon's last act is the point of this fight. To die when you kill is heroic.
FINALLY...The people who say "😭😭😭No OnE wOn DAeMoN aLsO dIeD" are the same people who have never been in a 1v1 fight in their life...If in this universe Aemond was to be asked in afterlife who won it... Even he would say Daemon bested him...
So Japanese kamakzi pilots were “winning” when they blew themselves and there airplanes into enemy ships? It was a loose loose situation for Daemon because Vhagar is stronger than Caraxes as we saw in the fight were Caraxes only closed his Jaw on Vhagar thick neck, meanwhile Vhagar ripped Caraxes wing and opend his belly with her claws it was a one sided match. But when they fell the force of the crash killed Vhagar as she was twice as big and heavier unlike Carxes who was lighter thus he died from his wounds. For Daemon it was wither flee, fight, or kamakzi himself into Aemond and he done the latter doing the maximum damage. In the end both sides lost an important warrior. Cole died because Aemond couldn’t help him and Rhenera died because no one was there to protect her after all of her close allies died. You could say it was a tactical defeat but a strategic win because letting Aemond roam and fight more would have sealed the war towards the greens side.
@@dutch148 You don't understand...Vhagar wasn't going to be DEFEATED in any other way other than Kamikaze...Daemon knew Vermithor and Silverwing were now on the Green's side so he HAD TO TAKE VHAGAR OUT... Going to the fight ALMOST EVERYONE INCLUDING AEMOND would have expected him to win and come out alive...But the Brilliant Daemon took him out using a Kamikaze (and yes Kamikaze's were a win for Japan...They lost a guy...a jet but they took out enemy battleships and more men)...Daemon didn't know that the small folk would storm the dragonpit and Rhaenyra would be too weak to save the dragons...If he had known something like that would happen in future he wouldn't have fought Aemond...
