I am all for people having fun. I just don't get the deal with some people that have to run 90 miles an hour up and down the lake ane then stop for a couple of minutes to "fish" and take off again. My wife and I will be set up fishing and it seems like the bass boats just delight in making bob up and down. My dad hated fishing with one of my uncles. Dad said he was like a fly on a cow pie, about the time dad would get casted out Uncle James would be ready to go.
Dave, I knew we'd git along. We both born in the grand state of Tenneessee. We both like oatmeal cream pies, Vienna sausages, cougars and catfishing. Not necessarily in that order. Yup. We'd git along Nuther great vid BTW.
Dave you definitely remind me of how I feel when I go out fishing & those dang dogs start barking!! It just drives me up the lake farther!! & for all them bass fishing boats I swear if they don’t catch a 1/2 lb bass every minute they are not happy it seems!! I’m not a big bass fishing person at all!!
Idk why you people insist on telling Dave what to do, let the man do what he wants and either watch or don’t it’s that simple. Dave spent the money on that boat and he’s damn well gonna use. Everybody goes through a learning curve when first starting out on a boat and this is the hardest time of the season for it.
Sounds like everyone here is a little salty about not being able to afford a boat. I don't have a boat either 😂 best boat you can be in is somebody else's. I have no problem beating feet on the bank.
No one is insisting anything lmao. There giving there opinion, if you don't care for said opinion jump off a public post... On another note Dave rather your on the bank or on your boat we love your videos here in Indiana. Keep on keeping on big guy
Fishing has been really hard here in West Virginia and weather don’t make it much better but I’m sure wen I gets warm they’ll start but I’m still throwing my lines
Dave ,I have been watching your videos for about a year or so and I have picked up a lot of catfishing tips from them . I'm a bass fishermen from Vermont. I'm living in illinios and had to learn to catch cat fish .so i bought a cat fishing ugly stick and a bait caster ,and 3 days ago I heard the bait clicker go peeling off line . It wasn't a monster but my excitement level from hearing the clicker screaming out was thru the roof . I wanna say thank you from explaining how you do it, it has taught me so much .
I enjoy your videos Dave. You are knowledgeable, and your sense of humor is awesome! I'm a bass guy, but Have spent years chasing cats, Muskie, steelhead and on and on. Though bass is my fav, I can completely relate when catfishing, and they go "865mph" 😂 jacking up my boat position! Love the videos! Keep um coming!
Dave, I hate to pass the bad news but the boats and wakes are only going to get bigger and more frequent. Just wait til the wake boats come out to play, pulling tubes and skiers and bringing on 4 to 6 foot rollers. Those busy bee bass boats ain't got nothing on them.
You caught 3 good fish and missed one because you were filling your pie hole. That's a good day as I see it. Spend a little time with your couger friend and get back on the water. Love your videos
Damn......some people with bass boats don’t need one. I’d be glad to take one for my 5 year old brother to grow up with. Never owned a boat before but it would be amazing for little brother to learn all of the boating manners and stuff. Catfish Dave is the realest....
I just cannot believe the amount of uncurtious boaters you get down there. You need to steal yourself a "No Wake" bouy and set it out where them boats are running past you. Great fishing video, as usual Dave! 🎣
I love these videos I'm a flathead fishermen myself here in Louisiana the bite has been really tough this year so far bait is really hard to get an u can give up on getting some skipjack. Night before last we managed to get 4 nice flathead hopefully soon gonna start our own RU-vid channel. But will never stop watching ol Dave. Love ur channel bud keep the good videos coming
I'm ready for SKY KING to come in for a Water Landing. lol Thanks for the vid Dave... I went fishing earlier today. Only had an hour. caught nuttin, nuttin I tell ya. Little Debbie is way better than a Vienna Sausage..Dave that boat is really stable. Looks like you got plenty of room on there. I mean so far they are both respectable cats. I'd be happy with either one of em. I think that dog took a boat over to this side. Thanks.
I've noticed a pattern that while not always true, is often so. The bigger the motor on the bass boat, the bigger the... yeah.. driving it. God forbid you idle past one too close when he's trolling though. I won a (small-time) bass tournament a few years ago driving a 1982 Indian River 16 footer with a 40 merc on the back to prove a point. The bait that day, a conglomeration of 3 $1 rack walmart spinnerbaits with a blue sparkly rubber crawfish and a trailer hook. Sometimes on a quiet night I still feel the hateful glares.
Just came across your channel and it's awesome!! I feel the exact same way about boats, dogs, geese, wind, cold, heat. You sir are me except you catch fish.
Do you ever pass by boats anchored up fishing when you’re headed out to your spot? Thanks for the videos I have learned quite a bit from you brother. My dad told me growing up “shut your mouth when elders are talkin’, they’ve been there and done that in most cases, so they know what the hell they’re talkin’ bout, so listen up. You’ll learn something.”
Ive never seen it from the catfishermans perspective but he acts exactly like I figured them fellers in the aluminum catfish boats do as I run past coolin myself off an we haul ass to make the wake smaller less boat in the water smaller the wake you grump😂😂😂
Dave you be doing it! Those were some nice fish! Even though that dog was being a headache to you LOL. Great video as always keep on doing your thing man!
Dave get you a bottle of strong 114 proof old grand dad whiskey, and every time a bass boat goes by , hold that bottle up , and stand up and act like you are taking a big drink , then they will stay father away from you ,, and if that don’t work , go ahead and take a drink every time one goes by , after the third one , you won’t see anymore bass boats.
Well my baits been dying on me the last year too . MOSTLY roach(rutilus rutilus) ans common bone bleak they die Easier than Flies and Farts ! Your Show is TOP NOTCH!
I've caught my most flatheads at dusk or night as well, on flats though.I call em pleasure boaters. You right about only concerned about how fast and how big the wakes they produce. The dog 🐕 just saying I wanna fish with you. Nice blues. Keep the film rolling 🎥!!!
Catfish dave don't know yet them boats push a smaller wake when they're planed up. I'd rather have the guy in the BB hauling ass, than the guy who slows down partway and pushes a major wake
Hint.... Shad need a oval or circle type of tank. They need to keep swimming foreword or they'll die. If they get caught up in a corner or something in their way, you'll lose em. Something i learned on the coast.
I have a good time giving my bass fishing buddies hell for their boats lol. My buddy bought 60,000 dollar bass boat and I asked him if the 250 horse motor was necessary and he said absolutely lol😂. Told me it was crucial to get to the best spots first lmao!!! The lakes he fishes are only 28,000 acres and bigger!!!
I'm with you Dave, I hate a barking dog when, well anytime.Oat meal creme pies are the best snack fishing except for Vienna sausages. Still,, you got some decent fish so it wasn't a total waste. Thanks Dave
I dont even go on the water on weekends anymore. Too much traffic. What do you do when you fish the dropoff on a river run to keep the flathead from running under stuff. I have caught some big blues but everytime I hang a flathead he runs under something and breaks me off.
@TexasCat 606 probably like a 5 or a 6. Believe it or not, the best carp bait I've found is a piece of French fry. It stays on very nicely and is super oily. Chumming the water with corn helps a lot too
One dog is saying to the other , is catfish Dave still out there fishing , yup , .... I sure wish he wouldn’t get so upset when we’re talking too loud..
Hey Dave its suppose to be relaxing, I would probably put some music on and call the catfish in. Relax my friend it's going to be ok. Great video never the less. Good job and stay safe
Hi Dave! I’m curious, have you ever made it to the Skunk River in Iowa? Monster cats there and plenty of them. Would love to see a “Road Trip” episode of that
I cought a net full of gizzard shad but are they good to use around this time of year? And what month do the skipjack come in thick im fishing the cumberland river in Nashville?
He reminds me of that as hole neighbor everybody has, u know the guy that calls the cops 4 anything, complains to the city about your house. Always outside being nosy.
I dont know if Dave answers questions on here but does anyone know how he rigs up those floats? Is it like a slip bobber concept? Id appreciate any info... Id like to give that a try in my neck of the woods...
Use what you want to spend. Those rods are a bit loose for the best casting but they will get you out farther than a boat rod. I use Okuma Longitudes but I have heard quality issues with them..a Penn Prevail would be a step up from those rods. I have Penn Carnage but those are over $200
@@catfishdave8192 trying to get the most for 100.00 a rod. I have alot of 7' ugly stiks that have alot of hard fishing on and am pleased with them.I want to set up 2 -12' rods for distance, I bank fish. Thank you for your reply ,I will look into the ones you recomend as well.
