Take it slow and enjoy the process! That way, the dagger will be making it self.

I really hate the fact that I completely understand what you are saying and how you are going about it but for the love of God I can't yet get my eyes and hands and grinder to all come together in unison with eachother. I feel as though I'm slowly getting better little bit by little bit but damn am I ready to throw grinds down on a knife exactly as I want them to be. Thanks for sharing with us all. I know it's an old video and I've rewatched it several times but every time I watch it I pick up things I didn't before.

You said it, you're slowly getting better. You know what they say, "Practice makes perfect" so just keep slowly improving until it's easy.

Damn, that's actually pretty helpful. I'm gonna try that out on something other than a dagger

Tidy! As a soldiers knife, it would not need to look pretty, they get banged up anyway. G10 handle scales on that with a slightly finer grind and then a edge put on. Would make a good knife. They soon get scratched up, so no need to be too fine a job. Collectors would be different. But would love to try it out. If the handle scales went all the way around the guard, it would give better handling, and better purchase on the knife. Nothing worse than banging your fingers against just the steel guard. A nice wide guard helps alot, about 20mm would be perfect, and then profiled into the shape of the handle. Well done sir!

Hello Mr. Neels. I love the overall design and flow of this dagger. I am an amateur looking for inspiration for my first ever dagger build. Would you mind if I take some of your design and blend it with my own? Thank you

You did not forge the knife bevels in, but ground them in, is this what the ABS teaches. If so than why forge?
