Time to do some maintenance on my 2014 Honda Accord 2.4. Your Throttle body is DIRTY!!!! The throttle body needs to be cleaned periodically or you will have a fun and unexpected trip to the dealer.
I just did this on my 2013 Accord and I did remove the entire throttle body, you see people on RU-vid spraying inside their engine that’s definitely not recommended also the relearn process is as simple as just disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes then leaving the car run for 10 to 20 minutes and the relearn process will be done. Don’t waste your money at the dealer
Here's a tip for everyone, since you have taken off the air filter box with the MAF sensor attached, get some MAF sensor cleaner and spray the sensor (not the outer part of the sensor where the wire clips on) and inner parts of the air duct.
If you wait too long, the throttle body will go so far out of calibration that the engine will no longer start. If it gets to this point, it MUST be reset at a Honda dealership.
@@PetesPlaceGarageMine idles higher than before cleaning and hesitates during stops after cleaning. I drove it for about a week now, and it’s still the same. I have been looking at other RU-vid videos, and it says to do an idle relearn procedure with the scan tool. I don’t have one. How do I do it without the tool?
@@danv6920 you have to take it to the dealer for the re-learn on the 2013 and up. But high idle is either a vacuum leak or the throttle plug didn't get reseated properly. If the engine already wouldn't start before you did the cleaning, then it's already too late and it has to go to Honda.
The whole job took under an hour from start to finish. But certainly, if you have the money and not the time, it makes sense to take it to Honda. Keep in mind that the $130 is Pre-Inflation. It will probably be more, now.
