When Puppets came out in 86, learning the songs were hard because of this exact exercise. James’ ability to slide up and down the fretboard so cleanly. Good call Rob.

I never was good at bar chords and specifically the Bbm is my fav chord of all time. I learned 3 Doors Down Here Without You and i can whip that chord out like a gunslinger. Practice makes perfect even the simplest stuff takes perfection. So much hand pain but i can now give a strong backwards handshake.
I’m glad you started counting with numbers instead of the actual note. This other guy I watch on RU-vid was explaining in a fretboard navigation video, as you pick up speed, it’s gonna be impossible to go through the individual notes but counting the notes is a much more proficient way to keep up in your mind what notes you’re playing and what’s coming up. I cant play either of my guitars, broke strings on both learning cleansation but I will be trying it when i get more strings. Unrelated I'm diggin the hair without a hat, keep at it brotha!

Can't wait to try this out, this is exactly what I need to work on (and usually neglect!). I think my coordination between right and left hands is sloppy when I move power chords around the fretboard. Thanks again for the content Rob!
