there was such an exciting energy in the park when that run happened. everyone lost it. i was so happy i could be there. he definitely deserved to win for that run. but he was a cool sport about the whole thing. i think some of these kids understand that there's a lot more to these events than coming in first place - who gets first place is a little random, and one can't help but assume that sponsorships play a role. the great thing about skateboarding is that the riders who are really in the know don't care very much who wins and who doesn't - it's really the energy and the spirit that counts. daisuke had a great energy that day. you can be sure he's going to continue to be a dominating figure on the circuit for many years to come. i'm really happy that japan is upping its game and giving the americans and brazilians a run for their money. it's great for skateboarding, and it's great for the scene.
Agree. Often the dude you remember is the dude who got robbed for first place / jumped off a roof / McTwisted the gap / did a freaky fakie kickflip etc.
Wait this didn’t win? I haven’t seen the first place run but I HIGHLY DOUBT it boasted so many insane tricks and created THIS MUCH CROWD HYPE. I wasn’t there but from this video I wanna say the judges botched it. This was a 9 club run in SLS even, period
@@2Swift4u theberrics.com/yuto-horigome-wins-sls-los-angeles Thats Yuto Horigome winning sls in LA last year, they didnt have a hard time at all actually. Stop hating man
@@2Swift4u Pretty odd statement considering many US competitions have winners from around the world like Japan, Australia, and of course Brazil. Here, Daisuke did a series of best tricks in a Run's competition which chopped down his scoring for "Flow" and consistency. Look at it like boxing, one guy could land 5 heavy hits but if his competition lands 12 mid level hits he wins! - because he showed a more constant flow of ability to land a punch even if they did less damage.
Behold to the japanese wave of skaters stormming like a kamikazes. That's it boys the game is over, shit got to a next high level I can't even come close.
For those wondering why he didn't get 1st - This was a Run's competition, not a best trick Comp.. His bangers where sick and always hypes a crowd, but he only did like 3 bangers and 3 low level tricks DURING his time. He got off his board a lot and did 50/50 stalls which KILLS the flow points he would have gotten. Those last 3 tricks were after time. His Comp. did like 9 mid level tricks and flowed the park like a champ.
