So awesome watching you place and face MG and AT guns preemptively and you did a great job, what you said about not needing to win but making them pay for ground is an excellent and realistic defensive strategy. Great game

Thanks James and absolutely! knowing when to switch onto the defensive, soft retreat to a better tactical position and properly anticipate your opponents next move is really critical. Especially, when you’re being double teamed. What I love about COH is the ability to take on a double team if you play it properly, even for a small period of time to give your teammates an advantage.

Currently top 5 4v4 player in my region but still tuning in. Great vid mate, some interesting break downs. The recon tractor in 4v4s is an absolute mvp and provides an insane amount of utility and map knowledge to your team. Never skip this unit.

That’s awesome, really glad these videos are interesting and entertaining for high level players as well. Thanks ranger! Oh yes, the recon tractor is extremely strong, I don’t use this unit as much as I should. DAK is definitely my least played faction but something I want to continue refining.

@@SargeGG Was an interesting Strat pushing for 3 ass grens. Personally find that without any real utility they’re not an overly useful unit. If they had a sprint, or snare then they’d be fantastic, but as is they’re in a bit of an odd place. I think a big part of why you got stuck in Tier 2 is the fact you had very little ability to deal with the allied armor and swarm. If you had 2 Pgrens and 1 Ass gren instead of 3 ass grens, you would have been able to hold off the horde and bleed far less MP as the allies armor, at risk of a snare wouldn’t have been so aggressive. Pushing for fast tier 3 whilst ensuring you have at least a squad of Pjaegers out gives you lots of room to flexibility pushing into the mid game. I sometimes even push a a PJ squad from my Tier 2 then go straight into tier 3 next without purchasing any other T2 units. I spend the leftover Mp on the infantry upgrade (which is a must) then go for either an early 8rad or straight into a recon tractor if my opponent is using lots of mgs etc.

@@theranger1304 Yeah, very good points. A sprint ability on the Ass Grens would be insane, especially with their new manpower cost of 300. But you’re right, the new Pgrens are just so much more versatile and cost-efficient in those mid game scenarios, especially when you consider AT nades. I love the Ass Grens and find them very strong, but perhaps a more balance composition will skill much better. I have been thinking about that actually. It seems like DAK can now tech up to Tier 3 quicker now, while still having adequate quantity of AT such as the PJs.

@@theranger1304 since u seem to have some experience with DAK; I am going to repost a comment I made on another video if you have any input or advice would love to hear what you have to say. DAK still seems pretty weird to play. i have been off and on with this game since launch waiting for patches etc. Your only AT options are jaegers or AT guns. Against brits mortars, AT guns are less effective so its like shit what do cuz jaegers only ok and take forever to get them out. no good artillery option like nebelwerfer to counter the turtle; tho i havent played much with the field guns but seems like their range is lacking thing with DAK is you always feel like your outnumbered no matter what cuz everything is like 1.5 times as expensive to get. tech and units i have noticed that the pgrens are SUPER good when upgraded with +1 model and mg34 but its pretty expensive to get to and basically u sacrifice getting out another 1-2 squads for it the mortar trucks are so meh and die so easy. the AA halftrack shot for the whole duration of 2 spy planes and couldnt shoot down either. US AA would shoot that shit down in 2 sec DAK vehicles get countered by just 1 or 2 AT guns with not many good options to take them out when you have 2-3 less infantry squads to push and shit tier indirect fire options DAK is so weird of a faction imo and difficult to figure out and just less overall effective than other factions it feels like

@@poonstangable Hey mate, a lot to unpack here. I’m going to come at this from a team game perspective. E.g 2s, 3s and 4s. Noticed there wasn’t any real question but more statements and observations, so I’ll do my best to break it all down. DAK is absolutely the most difficult faction in the game. This isn’t an opinion, it’s a fact spoken from the devs themselves. The heavy reliance on vehicles and progressive faction upgrades means you’re often down on unit numbers and forcibly investing in those units to make them better. Getting some early jaegers out is a must, I’ll quickly drop what I regular build is against Brit’s in a team game, whilst hopefully addressing what you’ve said. Tier 0 building 1. PGren 2. 250 for early aggression and combined arms buff 3. Pgren From here I’ve got a good foundation going forward for my early game, 2x pgrens which will trade nicely and get solid buffs with the 250 that will offer healing and the ability to clown car (pioneer with flame thrower inside) if needed. 4. Build Tier 1 5. Purchase Jaeger straight away or mg depending on your opponents build. (Don’t wait for the 6 minute, just get the jaeger out early) 5.5. Get the mg or jaeger depending on which option you picked in step 5. 6. Either Ned truck if you’re bleeding heavy or wait and try and push for a fast tier 2 (Tier 2 is built) -Once T2 is built you want to try and get the veteran squad leader upgrade ASAP to boost your pgrens, as well as putting an mg34 in their hands to help them scale against British Brens and Recon squads. 7. This is where things get situational. If your opponent has an humbr or potentially a very quick Stuart, then maybe push for a Marder or invest in the second jaeger call in. 8. RECON TRACTOR!!!! This is one of the most under utilised but best vehicles in the game. Not enough DAK players use this. It’s essentially free Map hacks, artillery and smoke all in one. It does a fantastic job at countering defensive emplacement spam and gives you and your teammates lots of map info. 9. Either another marder or push for Tier 2.5 and aim for stugs. 10. Everything from here is adapting to your opponent, so I can’t really give much more. If you take anything away from what I’ve said, honestly ensure your utilising the recon tractor. I can’t begin to tell you how fantastic this unit is. Especially against a defensive British player, it will be a life saver. As DAK you went to make sure you’re keeping squads and vehicles alive, as I stated before you’re investing in upgrades as DAK, so you want to make sure your units are surviving. If you’re think an engagement is going poorly, GET OUT don’t risk the squad, because chances are, your squad/vehicle has some upgrades on the way and will come back stronger and with more vet for the next engagement. Losing too many units wary on as DAK can lead to gg within 10 minutes, so ensure your unit survivability is on point. I hope some of what I said has helped. If you ask some particular questions I can probably answer them a bit better than the long general response above.

i belive that DAK is the faction most vulnerable to early game garrisons, the reason being is that they don't have much of a early anti-garrison unit, with the closest thing being PPios with flamers in a 250... all factions have a way to deal with garrisons extremely early, Werh and UKF have mortars on first base and USF can rush grenades and use breach if needed... tho DAK does make up a lot of it by devastating in open terrains due to powerfull combat units alongside with its incredible mobility for both vehicles and inf due to combine arms bonuses. if you do things right, DAK is the strongest faction even on late game, but then again you NEED to know how to use CA effectively use vehicles to deal with HMGs inf to deal with AT squads and both for vehicles depending on units.

I just read through this cris_p and it’s very well said, thank you for the breakdown. I think what you said is very true. DAK is extremely powerful but in very specific instances and context, especially in the early stages of the game. The early game can be very tricky for new players due to all the moving parts and the lack of early game mortars, MGs, etc… As you said, as the game progresses, DAK seems to become increasingly more powerful. In this new update, I feel like DAK is also less manpower constrained which makes a big difference.
@Robyn_Bank
@Robyn_Bank 10 месяцев назад
@@SargeGG thx for the response, and yes i belive that the overhaul was realy good to make the faction way less punishing to use, with the manpower changes being the big one. i do belive that DAK and Werh have oposite roles in relation to their operations procedure, with DAK being agressive in the begining and defensive on the late game, with Werh being the oposite. overhaul even with full upgrades the P4 is just better at everything compared to P3, Brumbar is way more agressive focused than the stuka, and the adition of Stobstrupen to the main army with the ability to ignore supression makes them way better for late game assaults compared to fully upgraded Pgrens or Assgrens.
@SargeGG
@SargeGG 10 месяцев назад
@@Robyn_Bank Very good insight in the middle paragraph, regarding the role reversal for Wehr and DAK as the game progresses. I love that simple and very concise breakdown. In my experience, I have noticed a very similar thing if the game progresses to a true late game. I often find DAK very strong and a defensive or passive aggressive posture, where you are playing for high-value. You have so many options and tools at your disposal, including P4 call-ins and a Tiger regardless of your battlegroup. I would like to see the DAK get more counter tactic abilities, where defense and counter-attacking is more incentivized and rewarded but it’s not an easy thing to design.

If I am correct, if you put upgrading flamethrower pioneer in the half truck it wont use flame (sometimes) like a bug. But when you let them down from vehicles then put them back on the truck it will works.

I don't know if you have, but it would be awesome if you could explain how you use your controls. It looks like you use a combination of moving around with the arrow keys and mouse. Looks like you are switching between ASDF and arrow keys. I always use the mouse to move around but since COH3 does not allow setting the movement speed, it makes for slow gameplay.

@SargeGG 10 месяцев назад
Hey eagle, great to hear from you and it’s a good question. Perhaps I can do a video on mechanics and camera movement in the future, as I’m sure it would be beneficial for many players. Some top players like to use the “pan camera” feature and will often use a mouse button (side button) to quickly move around. As of right now - I use a combination of mouse, tactical map, and the arrow keys at certain points in a match. My left hand is generally pretty active on the keyboard. But to your point, I think camera movement is something that can absolutely be improved in CoH3.

What's the average match length looking at? Very much not a fan of how a coh2 game could be 15 min or 1hr and 15 min.
@SargeGG
@SargeGG 10 месяцев назад
Yeah, that’s a good question Craig. I don’t know the exact statistics but CoH3 games are definitely shorter than CoH2 and I actually prefer it this way. It’s much more enjoyable to be able to play a few games rather than an 80 minute match. They just have to continue balancing the game, so that the early to late game development is ideal for the player experience and full range of units / mechanics. For me - most games are somewhere between the 20-40 minute mark. Longer games will go 45 to 50 minutes, in my experience.
