Cue Jock Ewing enters: "What the hell is this all about. " JR: Daddy I can explain" Jock: Shut up JR" " Jock: "you let Ewing oil be over taken by women and one with a boys haircut at that, that aint nothing to be proud of, in less than 10 years, you have destroyed everything that took me 40 years to build. Debra Lynn: "I have a DNA test" Jock: " What the hell does that mean"
It’s just kinda sad seeing Larry Hagman who is starting to age in these scene with these young people who aren’t the greatest actors, and the dialogue has become so campy by this point.
I agree, the new characters had no connection to the past characters, the actors who played Michelle, Carly, April, James were horrible and the storylines were boring, bringing in Susan Lucci was another mistake
I agree the best seasons of Dallas was season 1-8 9 was ok Bobby came back from the dead and got back together with Pamela and season 10 was the comeback season after a weak season 9. And season 11 was good even though Pamela was in a car explosion but season 12,13,14 I ignore because it deffintly was not the series it once was I just pretend season 11 was the final season.
Who are these people? Where is Miss Ellie and her shotgun? The writers/producers really dropped the ball on what was once the best series on television.
I tought I followed the series all those years but I actually do not know who this short haired blonde is and I do not care. Thinking of it, Dallas very soon after its release turned to crap. Falcon Crest and Dynasty never lost it, I think but Dallas was the best at the start.
michael65 you are absolutely right- as bad as dallas was its last season dynasty was absolutely horrendous and don’t get me started on that awful dynasty reunion movie- it was the pits!
John Ross and Christopher are hilarious. But the fact that JR lets them watch and how he talks to them after the three adults leave to get the baby is priceless. Then to Bobby, “this is a two drink minimum.” But your son just witnessed it.
In the last season of Dallas, I noticed that Patrick Duffy would only make cameo appearances in the episodes. In the last season there were no story lines involving Bobby and Christopher.
I think it was obvious this was to be the last season of the series, running on fumes. Duffy was probably already preparing himself for his future. Then he gets Step by Step around a year after Dallas goes off the air.
I remember Bobbys nightmare honeymoon in Paris, his chase after Hillary Taylor and finally getting Southfork from Miss Ellie, that's pretty much storylines.... April, Cally and Clayton only have a few episodes
@@tomjess8182 That explains why Sasha Mitchell (James) was cast as his nephew on Step by Step then. I always thought it was ironic that he played Duffy's nephew on 2 different shows.
I always thought Debra Lynn was a golddigger, no doubt about it, and really James? Married to two women just like that? James and John Ross were just like JR.
Derek Mathews well Debra Lynn is not really the gold digger. Michelle is. But Michelle has all the fire. Debra Lynn is the good girl, albeit boring good girl.
@@proudcynophile1901 but Debra Lynn had main key to the kingdom. James's son. Michelle knew she couldn't complete no how times she pulled James's zipper
James and Shelly married because he wanted to spite JR and so did Shelly, for different reasons. It was Shelly who was the gold digger, she was after the money from day one. She couldn't possibly love James as much as the cash she could get if he had to pay her a settlement.
That might have been the best acting I have ever seen, better than anything or anyone. James brings it, and that kid, He had me at Dad, best one liner of all time.
Tom bryan - Yes, the Academy Awards made an exception in 1991, and for the first time, handed out awards for television performances. The Hollywood elite gave a standing ovation as the actors who played James, Debra Lynn and little Jimmy were handed their Oscars after this scene was played. Meryl Streep famously cried and was caught on camera saying they were the next set of icons in acting.
All the young ones are reading off of cue cards this must have been their first acting gig how could they ever cast these awful people meanwhile dynasty was kicking ass
Dynasty had been canceled two years prior due to atrocious ratings. Hardly kicking ass. Do agree with the awful acting, which unfortunately wasn’t limited to the child actors ( looking right at the amateurs portraying James, Debra Lynn and Michelle! 😂)
It’s so strange that back then the men just took the woman’s word on being daddy’s, no paternity test was done on Ray, James, now little Jim , but I think their was one done on John Ross( 50 / 50 chance he could’ve been cliffs).
It's good it wasn't Cliffs cause remember he inherited a disease from his dad where if a baby is born it won't make it past 6 months old. Cliff had two siblings to die. He made it and Pam made it cause later we find out that she's not Digger biological daughter
Larry Hagman was an iconic figure in Dallas he will be missed .Larry Hagman played JR Ewing from 1978 to 1991 until the end Larry Hagman reprised his role in dallas reboot Fr om 2012 to 2013 unt il his death
The last two seasons was not the Dallas I came to know and love. Larry and Lenard ruined the show in to the ground. I was faithful to the show to the end. Because I cared about Larry Hagman.
I agree with many of the other comments on this thread - Dallas in its heyday was a truly great show but the last 2-3 years were to use Larry Hagman's own words "not up to par" - depending on which angle you look at it from, it is either dreadful or a parody of itself in its heyday - this scene could be from a comedy sketch - sad to see a great show decline - it went on for 2-3 years too long
The actor playing James is one of the WORST actors I have ever seen on a major television series. Everything he says sounds forced and comes off like a parody of real acting. If he had any intelligence he would have studied Larry's superior acting and tried to learn a thing or two.
So true. Clearly by this point they didn't care who they cast as long as he was good looking. But, his appalling acting was easily surpassed by the twit who played Laurel Ellis. Remember her? That Brit that Clayton took a shine to. Just dreadful.
Christopher- James cant be the daddy of that lady's baby and be married to Michelle at the same time John Ross-Of Course He can Butt-head he's a Ewing Rt Dad? LMAO!!
To everyone who thinks that James manner of speaking is too pretentious and he's awful actor, he always speaks like this, in all his movies, it's his natural way of speaking, I've never heard him speaking too fast and rough, I think as Cody he tried his best to look funny and dumb what is not actually his nature
I never liked the Michelle character. There wasn’t anything about her that was interesting. I was a die hard Dallas fan until the end of this series but I really started losing interest in the show after Victoria Principal left and The Real Ewing Oil company was taken away by the DOJ
Ĺucy Llewellyn I couldn’t stand Susan Lucci’s acting. She has always been a hammy actress. They should have brought Katherine Wentworth back to do kill April. Then have her runaway lol
The last 2 seasons just went downhill. Without Ellie, Clayton, Sue Ellen and Lucy the show fell apart. They should have just had it finish with JR, Bobby, John Ross and Christopher. You didn’t need the other new characters. They could’ve had enough adventures with those four.
From approximately 0:15 to 0:40 Debra Lynn tells JR Ewing that she is still the wife of James and sends Michelle Stevens out of Southfork Ranch. Please stay indoors during the quarentine as much as possible. May 21, 2020 @ 12:35 am
The look on John Ross and Christopher's face were priceless lol why can't they put this on tv again instead of seeing short videos on RU-vid hard to believe Sasha Mitchell was on Dallas and Step By Step just like Patrick Duffy was and Sasha was into kick boxing as well yes let's discuss this like adults lol James is a chip off the old block I just watching John Ross and Christopher through this
Did he really say "wowwww"... like he just watched a shuttle launch. Doesn't James know where baby's come from... this is so bad story telling and bad acting. The show is heading down fast... really.
James & Debra Lynn & their son who is also a J.R. As James Senior is a J.R., so is his father J.R. Ewing the second and John Ross the third is a J.R. Dallas should have had the 4 J.R’s on Southfork, with J.R. Being a doting grandfather & father to both of his sons. I like Debra Lynn better than bossy, snotty, pushy Michelle.
Yeah agree with alot of the comments here, Michelle, April, James, were terrible actors, not a patch on Pam, Sue Ellen and Jenna, in fact I cringe when I listen to Kimberly Fosters acting, as beautiful as she is, she's laughably awful
