I've played Monster Hunter World more than half that in just one year (about 300 hours I believe) so its definitely possible for anyone to have played a game 1000 times (especially if it was a bunch of short runs as a kid with zero attention span)
In Arin's defense, a fully distracted person might hear "E Y E" and recognize the W sound in saying y, and make the connection of "E W E" Still inexcusable though

And if you take the "Every day for like 4 years" comment, that means he played closer to 1,461 days of Zelda, which means his original guess is actually undershooting it.
Don’t take that too seriously, because they’ve also talked about how they don’t ever want to stop doing Game Grumps. To quote Arin “I will die on camera”
Bman64 Oh yea, I know. It just hadn’t hit me that there will be a day when Game Grumps will end and it bummed me out. I laughed when Arin said he was going to die on camera, though.
The way I deal with that realization is I try to think about how far into the future that day will be and were I will be at that time. I probably won’t be watching Game Grumps at that time. But I will look back to when I did and smile just thinking about it.

For the record, Danny very well may have played Zelda one thousand times. At thirty minutes each play session it's 500 hours. That's very possible over the many years he played it.

i've seen the mark zuckerburg moment about 100000 times too many for it to be funny anymore. as soon as i hear the start of it i just skip forward like 5 minutes.
