just to clarify gang, the Scourge megavid is currently on early access for Patrons and Members! It'll be live on the main channel in a few days' time 😁
i started to get worried that i missed it, and that it got delisted for a second, thankfully it will be out soon, and im sure it will be a lovely time.
There was another letter in the envelope that explained things, it might have got stuck to the bubble wrap or something. Glad you like the shirt though
9:16 Deluxe G1 Toy OP is a new toy, from the ground up, but designed to mimic the G1. It doesn't have the limits of being the G1 + Articulation. They're different enough that Collectors could buy both, and kids can afford one easily.
Its also cool because i want missing link, but i dont have 80-100 bucks to spend on something I can buy for 25. Theyre different toys but the same idea
I'm nowhere near old enough to have been around the 80's but I can imagine how awesome it must be for now-parents 80's kids finally being able to share a piece of their childhood without paying an arm and a leg. I've got ML Prime and am definitely getting Deluxe G1 Prime.
@@samurexatlas7373 even the beast wars line was absolutely full of g1 instead of focusing on beast wars. And as for the spreading out hasbro has started actually doing faithful updates instead of the extremely insulting g1ification they had/have been doing.
Quick word on Missing Link Prime, he DOES have a thigh swivel, they're just a little (scary) tight at first, because they chromed the mushroom pegs for... whatever reason.
@@Mekboy_ComputerMonster adding articulation to G1 Megatron would be more impressive than any issues with the alt mode. He's just this kind of weird stick insect flop monster
15:18 I don’t know if you heard but hightail creations is making an ultra Magnus trailer that’s compatible with the upcoming legacy deluxe Optimus Prime and can also turn into a posable figure of ultra Magnus without a figure inside
@toygrind Regarding the thighs of Missing Link Convoy: This is VERY important. Loosen the screws on the inner thighs. DO NOT TRY TO "POP" THE JOINT BECAUSE IT WILL SNAP. The factory workers did them up way too tight.
@@ShinGallon They probably would've just popped if the thighs were diecast. But as they're plastic, and the set cost me nearly £200, I wasn't willing to try and pop them. Loosening the screws worked a treat.
@@MaxCarnage1984 I meant the parts the thighs are connected to, in the crotch. Because the "shifting thighs in/out" step of transforming him scares me every time as well.
I'm SO happy whenever you do a Dammit, Open! videos. It's such a comfy thing to watch and play in the background as I do things or chill at night. Thanks for this fun video, Thew! Super happy you got lots of bangers in these packages and hope it keeps rolling.
I know we're all here for the bots but it's the metal that made me and many others stay in the first place. Watching the entire saga of forming Rogue Limb to playing goddamn Bloodstock has been such a delight to see. Major congrats to you and Greg, you sure as hell deserve it, and If I ever venture across the pond I hope I can plan it around catching a gig some day :)
Word of warning with Missing Link Prime: Be really be careful with the sliding joints for the legs. I can see those snapping off one day. They're fine when sliding them out to widen the hips, but there is definitely not enough support for them when you're trying to manipulate their legs. The leg joints are so tight, especially the thigh swivel, that when you try to turn them, it puts a lot of stress on the respective slider. I recommend putting a plastic or hard rubber spacer between the two sliders when Prime is in bot mode so that when you are manipulating the legs, there is some support. Also, be very careful trying to turn his thighs on the swivel. It is so incredibly tight, that I imagine you could strain the slider very badly. Or eventually snap a leg off. It's a shame, because the toy is perfect otherwise.
Not to be all Gewunner or anything, but they've never topped the general aesthetic of the G1 toy boxes. It's one of those things they absolutely nailed the first time and have just never been able to top. They look so prestige compared to the newer series boxes. I adore Missing Link Optimus but I'm always terrified I'm gonna snap the legs off at the hip because the plastic holding them to the upper torso seems to fragine, I wish they'd done those bits in diecast or made them thicker. But I had the exact same experience, that "this is G1 Optimus, he shouldn't be able to pose like that" feeling. But he's brilliant and I'm happy they're doing Bee and Cliffjumper.
This is going to be an odd question; Is there ANYONE who gives an inch of a care about Robotech in this modern day? (Pretty sure even Macross is MORE well known)
As a TF fan I obviously like and respect G1 but, unlike most TF fan, I am not obsessed with G1 and think everything has to be G1. In fact, I think they do too much G1. Anyway, as excited as most people were for Missing Link Prime, it was more of a meh for me.
The Matrix compartment is removable. Some people have adjusted the screws in the thighs to keep them from being worryingly tight. There's a slight trick to getting him back into truck mode without a gap in the bed that involves actually following the instructions closely. I wouldn't typically know this but I believe this has some minor carry over subtle features from the Diaclone and whereas most later releases feature retooling that was done for Powered Convoy and Ultra Magnus to get him to adhere to the armor better. Ironically, the bootlegs on AliExpress and Temu also appear to be made from the Diaclone version. Leave it to a bootleg in this era to be MORE vintage accurate than what we got in the gold 1990 packaging or G2. But it apparently makes the new guy stand out that the sculpt and paint owe more to the original 84 production run than what most of us actually owned and apparently the painted eye details and such may even skew 1970s Diaclone. There are a number of lovely shots of him with Diaclone men and Takara synergistically did a three pack of Diaclone reboot fellas in largely the same primary colors as Diaclone Convoys. Those sold out most places quickly after this went up. It was like 40 quid for the three little dudes and some kind of forklift/crane thing that's about the size of a Titan Master vehicle. But, yes, you CAN have super-articulated Diaclone drivers for this and the original seats are under the removable Matrix compartment and all over Roller and the trailer.
Congrats on winning and getting on the stage again, gonna watch the music video after this video. That Optimus Prime is one I would love to get as I have the the 25th Anniversary G1 Optimus Prime
Given that hasbro is mass releasing another articulated g1 toy prime at retail in legacy I think a comparison of high end vs mass retail of the same toy concept would be very interesting. It’s not just the same character. It’s 2 separate toys trying to recreate the SAME old toy. With knees and elbows and all that.
Loved the faces whilst transforming convoy with all the articulation throwing you off😂 Also the Scourge video isn't up on RU-vid yet so hopefully soon, eager for a big Thew vid☺
Spent years trying to find that WeiJiang KO of the ToyWorld Throttlebots. Still love them, but was disappointed by how unbalanced it was when you assembled them. Could never get it to stand and remain stable. The Missing Link Prime however did NOT disappoint. That thing is amazing.
You freaking out on an updated Optimus that does things that it shouldn't is absolute PRIME youtube. I could watch you nerd out all day. Much love from SoCal where we're broiling too. 🥵
Just wait until we get a release date for Studio Series Commander Class ‘86 movie Optimus, Thew. Your inner childhood self is gonna be screaming and crying with joy.
Even if they replace the Queens face with Chuck it'll still look like the Queen. Not much point making that a change. 🤣💀 Also so proud of you and RL. Keep it Metal. 🤘
Love the Koffin tattoo. I have the same one in the same spot. I love the bright colors of yours. Mine is more muted,i wanted colors like yours. Artist didn't have anything that loud. Just need 5 more to have a full playing set. Thought about getting a snake arm wrap, but with Ekans.

Ah, that Optimus...I'm getting the Legacy one too, of course.. for the same reason I got the Junior one back in the day: because I have a missile in my brain.
Excuse me Thew but ive never let the hype die on TM2 Scourge ive literally been keeping the TM2 Scourge fandom alive by myself. Your upcoming video talking about him now gives me hope more people will see how unbelievably gas that toy is.
apparently they've sold out of missing link three times over already. Way I see it, The Legacy one is for the kids. ML is for the collectors. Because everyone should have a G1 Prime, because when you get around to it, he is a friggin sweet toy.
Thew! I found something that could be a solution to your gloomy shelves. Homebase have these bar LED things that you can stick or screw into the top of a shelf, they're battery powered and you can adjust the angle the light comes out so you can set how far back in the shelf they're illuminating. Would grt a bit expensive to get all your shelves lit up, but it's less than 20 quid for a pair of these, could be worth trialling on just one or two.
The logo the domez skywarp is attached to is a reference to the original Robert Downey Jr Iron Man movie, Pepper made a similar monument of Tony's original arc reactor out of it.
Sorry that’s scary, I just bought the throttle bot combiner EDIT, I too gave up on wideload, double edit I don’t think that’s the set I have, the wei jiang set I have feels great and searchlight is still white
If anyone hasn't yet told, in topic of Takara's Missing Link toys; few months back we get to see Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. Missing Link Cliffjumper even comes with bazooka.
Hey thew I just wanted to let you know on missing link Optimus the little repair drone thing slides out of the trailers! I think that’s why it doesn’t have the roller gimmick
