Damon abused Elena, her friends and his brother all the time. He practically raped Caroline, tried to kill Bonnie, almost killed Matt, really killed Jeremy right in front of Elena, made Elena drink his blood because HE can't lose her (but he made his brother suffer for century for exacly the same), then Stefan left town to save Damon, and Damon expressed his gratitude by spending every minute by trying to make his girlfriend doubt her feelings. And to be honest, during season 3, Damon was Elena's abuser- he tried to control her, disturbed her, made choices for her and he took advantage not only of Stefan being gone, he also took adventage of Elena's situation- she was left alone, she lost her family, she needed to take care of her brother alone and she suffers for the love of her life- to be honest, I feel like she has no other choice than fall in love with Damon (the person who was there all the time and gave her a fake feeling of security) to not lose her mind. Bu okay, to be fair, he was also the abuse victim- Katherine abused both Damon and Stefan but unlike Stefan, Damon let her hurting him willingly because he loved her and then she destroyed him.

Uggghhhh I HATE DAMON and I don't understand how people love their brotherly bond when clearly it was one sided most of the time. And I hate that Damon changed Elena for the worse. She became self centered and selfish as seasons went by. I also hate how damon stans can't see it,it's right in front. How can people like a character like Damon!? And why? he chose to be abused by his father and mother the whole time he was human so he could protect Stefan, even when he was in love with Elena, he gave Elena the necklace that Stefan gave her so she could think of him and it made her fall in love with him, he killed Abby instead of Stefan so Elena would hate him and not Stefan, he did what the witch told him to break the sirebond as he had promised Stefan, he chose to die three times to save Stefan so he can live his life (7×16, 8×14 and 8×16) and go to Sybil for the same reason (7×22) and there are many more moments like he saved him in 1×17 and 1×06 when he was saying he hated him. I understand that he did bad things, but who isn't, in a normal bond something like this has to happen

Damon was so annoying!!! He always felt the need to insert himself into there relationship. He was the number one reason why there relationship went downhill, because he was always flirting and forcing himself onto her. He never respected Stefan (his little brother btw) he had beef with Stefan over a girl that didn’t give two fucks about him. And he held a grudge against him until season 8 when he wanted to blame Stefan for what he became like wtf!. Damon is the worst character I’ve ever seen.

Most definitely Stefan did deserve better and so did Stelena. Stelena and Bamon were my favorite ships on the show. Just wish Bamon became romantic instead of leaving things at friends.
Glad I’m not the only one that thinks this. On Facebook it’s nothing but Delena fans. Every time I mention Bamon they all pounce calling me crazy and telling me to watch the show again and see Delena’s growth but I’m not interested in Delena. I’m Bamon all the way.
Same here. When it comes to Damon Elena always is so naive and lets him get away with everything. With Bonnie though she saw through Damon and made him own up to his mistakes. In a way, she really was one of Damon’s only redeeming qualities as well as his love for his brother
exactly bamon was supposed to be a couple due to the books and stelena was supposed to come back together but julie was too much of a damon/delena fanatic and nina left the show.. after season 3 it felt as if the show was all wrapped around delena and a fan service, i enjoy the storyline of season 5, and 6 but they could’ve been so much better if there were less scenes of them

that first point EXACTLY. it pisses me off. damon BEGGED katherine to turn him, and he was mad katherine turned stefan too (not bc stefan is his brother and he wished better for stefan, BUT because he wanted katherine for himself). he didn't even give a single fck when katherine knowingly abused and compelled stefan. and then when he actually turned, he blamed that on stefan who's a 17 Yr old kid with immediate blood issues. and instead of going after katherine for breaking his heart, abusing and turning stefan, all he did was stay away from his blood brother, promise him misery and do exactly that.

I don't know I think damon and elena (even stefan) played a part in this. Damon was trying to get in between them and she just kind of let him do it because let's be honest she was already attracted to him when she was human but she loved stefan and she was still in her right mind so she pushed him away. then stefan's gone with klaus (to save damon's ungrateful a*s) which allowed delena to spend a lot of time together. stefan's back but his humanity was off which allowed damon to play the hero and earned him a lot of brownie points. she became a vampire and the sirebond came into play and suddenly her logic went out of the window. and that is how tvd writers ruined stelena.
I agree with everything except for the first one. Here, Damon was genuinely concerned for Stefan that he didn't care about the pageant. At least, that's what I wanna believe.
Actually Damon was d one to force Stefan to drink more and he deliberately left a glass of human blood in Stefan's room even after knowing his condition and when things messed up we very well what he did

I’m at season 4 and I HATE IT!! Dalena give me no butterflies it’s just a bunch of sex and make out while I cried when Stefan found out Elena slept with his brother. I’m hating this whole thing of Elena gaslighting her friends while they talk sense to her and keep telling Damon about the love she FEELS. Like few days ago you were planning on spending eternity with Stefan. What I want to know is: SHOULD I CONTINUE WATCHING THIS? DOES IT GET BETTER?
yo it makes no sense though, like damon's pointing out that they can't beat klaus to protect elena. and then stefan stops damon from beating klaus to save elena. damon was already trying to say we can't beat them, they will kill us. and then stefan realizes this and gets painted as a hero for reaffirming what damon knew, when still neither of them are capable of protecting elena. here damon is painted as not caring enough about elena even though stefan prevented him from protecting her. in the end it's shown both of their hesitations to protect elena is done out of fear of either of them dying in the cause.
i dont know the correct word, but as a ''viewer'' of this show, how can you watch stelena in the first 2 seasons, the 2 best seasons, and not like them? and how, if you do like them, can you even pretend to like delena over stelena when they're not even a better couple, and more importantly, the show is nowhere near as good in season 4 5 and 6 when you watch the show once, its difficult to make a decision, but instantly on my 2nd watch i knew stelena are better, and of course, the first few seasons were way better so it's like for like
