In May, 1977 my wife and I visited friends in Karratha, about 1500 Km north of Perth. One of those friends was a representative for Dampier Salt, who extract large quantities of high-grade salt from sea water by evaporation at Dampier, the next town, a short distance away. This is a Super 8 record of a tour he took us on of the salt operations, normally closed to the general public. (Some of the footage has deterioration with time, so it looks a bit jerky. My stabilization feature smooths a lot of it out, witness the jerky black side bars as it steadies the images.)
