I think this scene was awesome. It shows that Dan was remorseful about what he did to Keith. And it also shows that Dan wasn't really a monster after all. It only took Prince Charming with a sword on ONCE to be killed.
Alana Fowler, I so agree. I loved this scene. Dan Scott finally said all the right things. He finally got it. I’m glad he made amends with as many people as he could.
Out of all the characters, Dan Scott had the biggest and most epic character development. For so long he was a character we hated and now he was a character we loved.
This scene was literally like a knife stabbing repeatedly through the heart......there are so many life lessons and so much perspective in this scene. Love, karma, forgiveness, repentance, change, nature at work, how small our efforts are in the face of destiny and so much more.
Wow - Paul and Craig rocked it. This was Paul's best episode, IMO. Watching Dan become somebody other than the tyrannical, bullying, manipulative villain/dad was a refreshing episode. The apology to Keith was a long time coming. Loved the "You're my plus one" line. Probably the best ending for the character - some redemption, and he goes out when he's at his most human. Very well done by both actors.
Excellent ending to probably the best episode of One Tree Hill EVER! Paul Johansson was amazing in the final season and his sendoff was one of the best farewells i've ever seen.
I can't believe how emotional this episode was.. I was in tears the WHOLE time. :'( It was heartbreaking.. and this scene.. I was in pieces.. and I fell apart when I saw Kieth.. it was such a happy.. sad.. amazing surprise. Best End Ever
@The Jay, because I’ve seen the whole entire season of One Tree Hill that’s why. From Season 1 to Season 9. That’s the way it was supposed to end for him.
@The Jay, hello dude, where do you think he went? He and Keith are walking into the light. What place is that other than Heaven? For god sake man, he’s here telling his brother all these things he did, that he regretted, that he was jealous of him, and Keith just forgives him. That light again can’t be anywhere other than heaven. It sure isn’t hell. If it was hell Dan would and Keith would be walking into fire. But it wasn’t.
@The Jay, it could be all of those things and Dan has obviously repented for all his sins. So I don’t know. But I want him to happy a happy ending for once though.
I’m sorry for the lost of Dan Scott but he actually say I am sorry to his older brother Keith Scott also said to his youngest brother Dan Scott you are my plus 1 Danny here’s two Brothers Forever
Wow. Even I got a little choked up watching this. I saw pretty much every spoiler on this season (including the finale) but never any mention of Keith. To see him come back was a very pleasant surprise. It was extremely touching seeing Dan gaining redemption and Keith welcoming him with no hard feelings. I hate to start anything but this gives me hope that perhaps more surprising guest stars may reappear in the final two episodes...I shouldn't get my hopes up though.
I absolutely love Dans character. I think it shows that someone who might not have made the best decisions in life can turn and make better decisions. And idc what anyone says, Dan definitely changed and he definitely did care a lot about everyone.
Jealousy can make you do hateful things. He had to mature. Dan likely hated himself and just projected it into Keith. Because in his eyes, Keith was perfect. His transparency at the end was great to see.
Well, Dan saved her husband and died for this reason... She must be eternally grateful to him... And then she realized how much Dan changed... Watching him turning finally into a good man is really touching...
Well Dan died for Nathan, that’s the way it was supposed to be. He died so Nathan could live. Children are supposed to bury their parents, not the other way around.
Even though he spent most of the series as the villain. It's amazing and wonderful that he was able to walk into heaven and be the hero we all knew he should have been
If you really think about it Keith is like ObiWan the older brother and Dan like Anakin, Dan lost Keith because he let hate and anger control him and when he had Nathan he wanted to control him too. Keith never gave up on Dan just like Obiwan never gave up on Anakin/Vader.
This looks very familiar the villain turns good sacrificed himself to save his son finally makes amends with his son then dies only to have his ghost look over him. Very emotional scene but they should not have killed Dan Scott off. If they ever do a reunion movie or a reboot spinoff we will never see the character again. Fuck that show. Mark Schwahn is an idiot and wasted a lot of time with characters no one cared about. My advise to him is if he does another show consult with Vince Mcmahon
Dan blamed Keith for ruining his life but it was Dan who ruined his. He tormented Keith. In the end, Keith never met his daughter or really have the chance to really be with Karen. He took away everything... I started rewatching from season one so I'm not a Dan fan....
Yeah, it was a really great and moving scene, but...nope...I just can't really love Dan Scott after all the horrible things he did. Expecially Keith's murder. He was the worst father, the worst husband and the worst brother EVER...yes, he tried to make things right with Jamie, but (for me) he was too late. He wasn't a good man. Period.
