Nickelodeon and the rest of Hollywood has been ran by freaks like this for the longest time, we can’t let them keep winning. It’s time Dan “Hold her tighter, she’s a fighter” Schneider gets what he deserves.
Thing is those creeps creat great content without them you get the crazy activist types who are just as crazy and abusive waybe worse and they can't create anything good. Hollywood is rancid but if given the choice rather have the talented creeps than the annoying ones.
@@aurahoneydew9607 This is one of those very unfortunate realities that I think people try to ignore but it's impossible. It's kind of like the concept of the tortured artist it's the fact they were somewhat broken twisted people that made them good artists. The creative process is a strange honestly difficult to explain things and I think people that really know how to do it have something unique. Unfortunately that typically comes with some kind of baggage case in point Dan Schneider.
Don't forget Zoey 101, in which Jaime Lee Spears was a b*tch that bullied everyone around and Schneider was there to support her... And she got pregnant by a guy twice her age, and a man who operated the lights.
Even as a kid watching them parts freaked me out, like the episode of icarly where they put their feet into inflatable pools full of beans, even at 13 that felt off to me
I'll say, when I watched those shows at some point I stopped because somethings felted weird, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but as time passed and saw some again out of boredom I started to suspect the worst and realized why it seems disgusting to me back then. The documentary proved my suspicions right and it was devastating...
"he'll probably never work again" Roman Polanski was still making movies in the 2000's, more than three decades after running from the law after being convicted of sa on a 13 year old girl. There was also that horrible movie Powder that was directed by a convicted chomo director who had filmed himself sa-ing a 12 year old boy on the set of his movie clownhouse, he spent another 20+ years making movies when he'd have been persona non grata anywhere else in polite society. They always find a way to weasel their way back in.
at least Roman Polanski entertains, Powder movie I felt so bad for the baldy that I can forgive the director Hollywood studios want the money from China so they aren't better
@@abrahamlupis9354 That doesn't change that fact that he is a rapist and he knew it and Roman is still hiding in foreign country like the coward that he is.
That's the entire problem with Hollywood in a nutshell. They always claimed to be so progressive and so forward-thinking and the problem is that's all entirely surface. Deep down in the core/heart where it actually matters it's very clear everything they say and claim is entirely a virtue signaling and nothing more. They allow the worst of the worst if they actually have talent and that's all that truly matters. Doesn't matter what absolute monsters these people are as long as they create good product. Of course now they can't even have that the people getting rolls and pushed into positions of power are total hacks or just flat out suck at whatever they supposedly do.
This is basically him trying to deflect. Everyone knows what kind of person he is, the documentary talked about, so he's going to sue them and try to spin it as if he was always innocent.
This is basically Schneider trying to keep his remaining bridges in Hollywood from burning. At this point it's every entertainment figure for themselves. No loyalty. And guys like Schneider are a link above the bottom of the food chain in Hollywood. Him and others like him will be the first ones thrown off the boat.
If he's suing for defamation, it will open him up to the discovery process in legal proceedings. He better be sure he doesn't have damning evidence against him or the lawsuit will bite him in the arse.
@@hawkeye5955 That's basically it in a nutshell. Yes, he's within his rights to sue them, but whether or not it's a good idea on his part is questionable at best and downright stupid at worse. The after effects of this could be bad. Think about what the Me too movement and Amber Heard did to actual victims of SA? This could have the same effect to those falsely accused who might try to reclaim their lives and reputations.
@@woldemunster9244 I swear her involvement with Disney Star Wars proves one single thing very clearly, orientation is literally all that matters. If she wasn't part of alphabet soup club I doubt she would have ever even been considered for that position even with the franchise in the absolute toilet these days.
In general sentiment I agree. Problem is, how far up the chain? At what point is not knowing a valid excuse? Does it go up to the CEO? Does it go up to the CEO of the parent company? Does it go outside of the company and implicate law makers for not regulating child labor? I think it has to do with who you can prove knew. Plus the parents. Mind you, the parents that signed off on it. It's ultimately the parents responsibility. But of course anyone who knew and said nothing is responsible when it's kids.
I mean beyond the substance abuse issues including alcohol I believe she's got a pretty serious case of bipolar/ schizophrenia. She's unfortunately a person that had underlying issues and ones that were created by her fame. She truly is a sad case of what happens when someone becomes a huge star and then crashes down incredibly hard. Yeah a lot like Britney but even worse because I feel like she's not getting the professional attention she needs.
@@GabrielleTollerson I don't know where you're coming from lady but I don't hang out with children, ever. I don't have any of my own nor do I plan on having any anytime soon.
I care more about how he badly affected the environment at Nick than about his feelings about this docuseries. He can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned.
Never liked any of these shows even when I was the right age. It's no surprise that the people running Nickelodeon and Disney were complicit or participants in the abuse.
Same. I was homeschooled at that age and the only TV I was allowed to watch were PBS Kids shows like _Liberty's Kids_ . Some of my public school friends showed me their favorite Nick and Disney shows. I was aghast. They were really lowbrow, crass, and full of obnoxious characters. The plots were brainrot and the jokes didn't land. I felt like I'd eaten a whole box of Twinkies after watching those 🤮
@@talithakoum3922 No one cares you were a PBS kid cause your parents couldn’t afford cable. Good for you? you want a scooby snack or something? Oh I forgot, kids who HAD cable only get the reference.
Until they do a DNA test of the kid that Jamie Lynn Spears (Britney Spears sister) gave birth to when she was 16...and the test definitively proves that Dan Schneider is NOT the biological father...I'm going to continue to recite the 4chan mantra: "Schneider Schneider, put a baby inside her..."
It should be said I don't think for a second I would try to make the case that he's not a creep or that he didn't engage in some bully like behavior. But to then make the jump from that to any kind of SA or abuse stuff is where I think the defamation stuff is going to be interesting. As far as I've heard there's no direct paper trail or links saying Dan knew anything about what was going on between the actual PDFilles and him.
I watched all 3 episodes twice. They were really careful about not directly accusing him of actual sexual crimes or even unwanted touching of the kids. They sort of questioned his relationship with Amanda Bynes when she was working through her emancipation and how he used to spend time with her alone when she was younger. Still, no sexual accusations were actually levied. That being said, I suspect I know what conclusion many people will make.
I remeber in her book, the actress of Sam in iCarly, Jenette McCurdy, talked about Dan Schneider using the child actor's actual traumatic life events as inspiration for episodes and it made her feel like he was making fun of her
In her book she either talks aboot a guy she was dating from the show, whom was 32, she was barely 18. He manipulated her into that she gives him head, when she didn't want 2. Either made her drunk a few times. She named him Joe in book, but i think that isn't his actual name.
Dan Schneider was quiet for all these years after so many accusations and rumors about him came out. And now he's finally suing someone about it now that he actually stands to gain something from it. That just makes him look all the more guilty.
What's there to gain? All he's done now is open the doors for them to look into HIM, as that is what will have to happen to 'exonorate him'. Meaning he's placing a target on his head since, at this point, nobody is going to protect him as it'd be more advantageous to throw him under the bus.
Technically speaking, he only has a case for defamation because the documentary was made. You can't sue people for talking, but you can sue people when they publish something that you can claim is wrong and detrimental. So no matter what it looks like, this is actually the appropriate time to sue. I've never heard of this guy and I didn't ever watch Nickelodeon so I have no opinion on this situation, but legally, this actually makes sense.
@@RossM3838 I mean they would actually have to have some pretty serious evidence for the really truly heinous stuff they're trying to say he did. I mean inappropriate stuff, absolutely. Some gross jokes that he was able to push through (thanks to Nickelodeon itself I'm sure) absolutely. But any kind of SA or real abuse stuff, I don't think so. That would be a very difficult case to prove unless you could actually get people to step forward and say that it happened to them and with some kind of real tangible proof to back it up.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu the documentary never really says that Schneider actually molested children. It does imply that he and Nickelodeon allowed and even fostered criminal behavior on their sets. Brian peck was only one. Along with his buddies there was the guy from ren and stimpy who openly brags about chasing underaged girls. Schneider comes across as a creepy scary guy who desperately wants to be part of the gang but his behavior, in his mind was childlike” was to the children scary and wholly inappropriate. And when it came to getting his shows done his way, he became a relentless bully. While he never broke the law about child molesting I’m sure that he ignored every child labor law on the books. I have no direct evidence of that can be inferred from what everyone who has ever worked for him has said. A law suit thus is a risky proposition for Schneider. He should take his 7million dollar buy out and retire
I think Dan has a valid lawsuit on his hand. The guy might be creepy, he might have been inappropriate, he might have an inappropriate sense of humor, but he never sexually abused children.
I'm so happy the Zack and Cody kids got away from the industry. I think the kid that played Cody became an archeologist and later opened a bar that sold beer made from ancient recipes and the Zack kid became a photographer.
They do if they know the people. I had uncles that would tickle me when playing. They’d never ever do anything inappropriate, it was play. Now, strange men or men you’re only acquainted with tickling you would be weird or men who you know go from tickling to bad touch is something to be upset about. There’s a fine line, but it does exist and saying that tickling is equal to abuse is dumb.
I have always wondered if that was a reference to the rumors floating around nickelodeon at the time especially given what patrick and spongebob were doing in that episode.
Well the thing is a lot of people who didn't watch he show definitely got the impression that Schnider was a ped (given that he has a foot fetish and made underage girls do weird foot stuff he may at least have tendencies) but absolutely no accuses him fo doing anything to kids in the show (beyond the creepy writing and lighter touching) . and according to bell Schneider was there for him when the abuse he suffered came out.... So yeah it makes sense that he may have a case... not necessarily a winner but still What's really weird is that there are 3 other full on sex offenders covered... One whos diary detailed his desire to kidnap and rape a child, another who gets a episode detailing his abuse of drake bell (that's his name right?) and a third guy who is barely mentioned. Schneider gets more focus than the other 3 combined even though what they did was much more horrific. Not that I remotely want to defend an abusive boss with predatory tendencies that did some really horrible stuff to his writing staff as well as putting weird deviant stuff in kids shows. But there is bad and then there is seriously bad. and it is weird the show kept going back to him when the others were so much worse ... and one went on to work at disney (season 2?...man that would be twisted but believable) Again not trying to defend him, more wanting that degree of focus put on the much worse offenders.
Everyone forgets what the Justification was from the studios in the 90s and early 2000s on why they let adult content in the kids shows... "Its there for the parents, so they don't get bored when watching with their kids"
@@courtneycherry5582 didn't say parents did, i said the studios claimed that it was for stopping parents getting bored. but we all know the real reason why
@@Vyperus69 oh yeah that's a good point, I was saying that not all parents watched what there kids watched.... Which may be that's why it went so long too.
Interesting that this is happening a day after former CEO Bob Baskin of Paramount Global Corporation (the parent company of Nickelodeon) was sent to the New York State Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance Division, aka, the unemployment office. LOL. 😁😂🤪🤣😆😄😊👌
He was already “de-famed” before the documentary came out. He can’t claim that the documentary caused the “de-faming” if it was already gone. Besides, didn’t Amanda Bynes say that he took hundreds of pictures of her feet? If that body part is considered arousing to any group, it is just as much pron as anything else.
Watching this documentary made me so happy i watched cartoons as a kid. I knew all these shows existed. I just noped out of it. Future me is really happy with past me right now.
I was watching that Victoria show with my daughter years ago and they had scene with one of the boys and a girl in a car and the boy said, "come on it'll be fun". And the girl replied, "No, I didn't shower this morning and had tuna for lunch".
I wonder if Marc Summers (former host of 'Nickelodeon's Double Dare') will also sue the producers of 'quiet on the set' docuseries also (but for entirely different reasons...Google - Marc Summers says producers mislead him & he walks off their set')...
Dan apparently does not understand that even if the actors were adults. He was being a creepy pervert. The fact that these were kids makes it far worse.
Can’t a judge remind him that he committed levels of sexual harassment towards minors? So basically he’s suing for defamation because he committed a crime… for years on multiple kids.
I swear he is the father of jamie lin spears kid. Not to mention the rumors of amandas yerminated pregnancies. Its really hard to ignore alot of dans alligations
crossing fingers for a Streisand Effect Kneon comment on "he's making us money" reminds me of Ubisoft and Blizzard same thing except they did it to adults
Wasn't it Dan that told one of the writers to act like she was being railed from behind during a high school story for a sketch? Ya, know. For a Kid show!!
You have to wonder if Schneider’s lawyers have seen his body of work? The Ariana Grande clips alone will bury him. I mean if this case goes to discovery, he’s probably not going to be just looking at a reputation problem.
I can take any picture of anything and say that it looks inappropriate it's called paredolia. You can go back in any show or movie set that included kids and see people taking pictures with the cast members full grown adults, and if you put some scary music behind it with a description that's disturbing you'll see it that way but none of us were actually there and think about this the one person that's really saying anything about those photos is Alexa Nikolas and she doesn't like Dan for many reasons, but none of those reasons hold any weight she was just mad because she got let go
18:42 yes, there was, and that's not all: the character was female but played by a boy, and was supposed to be Amanda's #1 fan. I also distinctly remember this character having a "romantic dinner" with another character, in which they _dined on a jello sculpture of Amanda's foot_
Oh this will be fun with the discovery. Don't think he's going to like the results of this. This has been an open secrete for years. Glad this is finally out in the open but sadly it was hardly surprising.
First, I’m so glad the girl who played as Carly turned out okay because that means the guys who played as Spencer succeeded in protecting her from too much trauma. Second, I’m tired of those people who say you’re the bad person for pointing stuff out because they say that you have the dirty mind and it’s all fine. Guess what, sometimes you have to think of the mindset of a sicko to be able to point out a sicko.
Can't wait to see the discovery on this trial. I can only guess that he's trying to protest his innocence and hoping there's a settlement instead of a trial, because I think only the tip of this skeevy iceberg has been put out there
I could've sworn he was working on a new show called furious feet. But I literally cannot even find the video about it so I'm guessing it was just a lie.
Don’t forget the guy from ren and stimpy. He openly boasts of chasing underaged girls. While not Schneider it was endemic to Nickelodeon. That Schneider is apologizing now, years later, shows his pure cynicism. He may not have literally broken laws but his content, behavior, and treatment of the children was disgusting and he must not be allowed to head up tv shows Disney hired Brian peck to work on the suite life AFTER he was released from prison. Yes after. Only when the media found out did Disney drop him. They fully knew what he was about. Two cast members from boy meets world, a Disney show, wrote letters to the court supporting peck, after he pleaded no contest and was convicted. Only now, 10 years later, are they apologizing. Yes Disney has a lot to answer to.
Re Kneon's brief Bryan Singer comment, I believe all legal actions against him have been either dismissed or settled. His reputation has been hurt but there is no current evidence of his guilt.
I never watched these shows or really even know who this guy is but everyone is entitled to defend themselves from accusations of misconduct, everyone even if it seems like a slam dunk that they did whatever they are accused of doing. If he's guilty then his defense will fail and he'll be further exposed, which is a good thing. If he's innocent like John Lassiter was and is being misrepresented as a perv or whatever then it's wrong and he'll at least get something from those who defamed him and get others who may think it's okay to falsely malign someone to think twice about spreading false information. Like I said I have no idea about this guy but due process isn't just for people we think are innocent it's for everyone and the media if they are going to make accusations has a obligation to get things right before they destroy someones life.
Hopefully this doesn't end up in the banning and D-listing of shows and episodes. No one wins in that situation just look at how The Problem woth Apu ruined the Simpsons as they tried to "fix" the show, so many characters have been cut and how annoying is it that Stark Raving Dad and Three g*ys and a condo are banned on D+.
