ありがとうございます。The choreographer is Mizuno Mikiko, one of the most famous choreographers in Japan. She said, "SU-METAL can move people just by putting their arms out in front of them. She is a genius. Needless to say, MOA-METAL is also a wonderful dancer. There have been a great number of people who have reacted to BABYMETAL, but none of them have focused on the choreography as you have. Thank you for this very interesting video.

I was going to bring up the same thing. Having Mizuno Mikiko as the girls' choreographer was a brilliant stroke, but not really shocking as Koba-Metal really has gone the extra mile in getting the best accompaniment for BabyMetal.

Excellent reaction and analysis, thanks! I'm so glad you noticed and pointed out Moa's dancing abilities. She admitted she wasn't very good at dancing before joining Sakura Gakuin in 2010. She improved a lot in all these years. And yeah, Su's vocals... she's amazing. But in my opinion, her best feature is her versatility. She's able to sing anything and that's mind-blowing. Until next time!

"But in my opinion, her best feature is her versatility. She's able to sing anything and that's mind-blowing." Which is why I would have loved to have some kind of recording of Suzuka doing Karaoke, if it was a leak I would complain about the privacy violation, but I would listen to it many times to understand what I think is going on. 🙂 She said (paraphrasing) "I try anything and everything". Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect what she said really is probably part of what allows her to do what she does.

⚡ 💕 / 🕉 ☮ "Shanti Shanti, Prana of living beings Shanti Shanti, Chakra blooming life Shanti Shanti, Samsara of living beings Shanti Shanti, Karma, be in high spirits" (Shanti Shanti Shanti) It's great that Su has an opportunity for some vocal pyrotechnics on this one. And I'm sure they loved learning this choreography. Moa mentioned in an interview that the hand gestures were pretty challenging to begin with. It's very different from the style of dance they are used to. The musical influences on the third album, 'Metal Galaxy' are really diverse. It's clear they approached all of their international fusions with an attitude of respect, which makes all the difference in the world.

You said you were feeling really emotional, your reaction made _me_ really emotional. Genuinely. This song is really special to me among Babymetal's catalog, unique in how it hits, and their ambition in taking on this challenge and succeeding so well in the dance choreography & execution, Su-metal's vocal run (which _is_ special for this song, not her usual technique) is remarkable. Thank you so much for your insights into multiple aspects of this performance!

Great reaction I really enjoyed that - and, as you said, this is cultural appreciation, not appropriation. If there is one thing you can be absolutely sure of with BABYMETAL it is that everything they do is done with the utmost respect. I get flash backs (happy ones) to when I worked in New Delhi for a short while and the music our local staff would bring in to play at all the parties we had. That was Moametal you pointed out with her head movements - she has said how difficult it was to learn all the hand movements as, being Japanese, they just didn't come naturally to her - and she so wants to make every performance of every song perfect. I'm so glad you commented on Su-metal's vocals too, she is an incredibly versatile vocalist and seems able to adapt to whatever style is thrown at her and to make it look and sound effortless (I'm sure she works extremely hard to make it seem like that).

Thanks from Japan 有り難う💛。 FYI, Bloody Wood is one of favorites bands of Koba Metal, a producer of BABYMETAL [source: Headbang vol.34 page 45]. The choreographer is Mikiko. I believe she is a prodigy. Team BABYMETAL will be pleased to see you, a lady with Indian background, enjoying this song with big smile. That must be one of their goals. I can imagine how diligently the songwriter, choreographer, girls and musicians tried to understand and study Indian music and dance moves. They took a risk of being called "fake" or "cheap copy" of Indian music while they really wanted to create their own metal music with excellent Indian flavor paying their due respect to your culture. Please explore BABYMETAL more.

This is a new first! BABYMETAL have moved me to tears very often, but it has never happened from listening to someone talk about their choreography. My admiration for this band increases endlessly. Isn’t it amazing that both Su with her vocals and Moa with her dancing go through all the effort needed to get to this level of perfection just for this one song? And for the next song it’s a completely new challenge. I‘m also happy that Moa gets her share of praise, as she tends to stand a little in Su‘s shadow for being „just“ a dancer. Another amazing point is the apparent charisma of this band. Isn’t it crazy that they manage to make someone that new to the band emotional? Being able to evoke a sense of pride in a complete stranger strikes me as quite special. This video made me very happy, thank you!

_Accha accha accha acchaaa_ 🦊🤘🔥 This part most likely isn't japanese, and your guess and translation is probably right, i don't remember the full lyrics now. Don't worry about this clip, there are certain songs you won't find at BMRR, i guess this is one of them, just remember to get the spreadsheet from "Future Plans" vid, you'll get the full roster there. Wow jumping so fast to 3rd BM album, didn't expect it this, but is cool because you'll notice the evolution and more complex choreo in this. This journey to Metal Galaxy on their 3rd album got a lot of songs picking up rhythms from all over the world and combine with the unique sound of BM. Shanti Shanti Shanti got a Indian influence and elements, others songs got folk metal or latin rhythms, or Thai rap, so this journey is wild. The album concept is about to collide the Light And Darkness side and this song belongs to the Light side. I noticed many girls love this songs so probably their pop sound is more relatable, idk, for me sounds exotic and that's what it hook me up. As long as you enjoyed is all good, there's BM for everyone. ❤️ Since this was after YuiMetal left the third backup dancer here is called an _avenger_ there were three of them, in this song is Kano Fujihira, just remember none of them got official name revealed and not official members, they only dance, no sing. In the live comp is also Momoko Okazaki. There was another challenge in this BM era for the girls and that was the difficulty on dance this along with new partners, MoaMetal talked about this saying it was one of the hardest thing to match up and get in sync with every one of them, especially at Legend Metal Galaxy when all the avengers switch up in the same show (also taking it a break) while Moa performing the full set 🥵 But it was a great experience for her, YuiMetal was also known as the "angel of dance" (you'll see more at BM guide) and she was the most technical among them, Moa took this challenge after she left and focus on this dance aspect learning a lot from the experience with the avengers and backup dancers before them. Really love when choreographer dancers like you care and noticed about every little single details on this song, and you got it alright about this as a cultural appreciation, i really love all the reference you said on this coz i know them all, btw Bloodywood is a great band and iirc the producer of BabyMetal took noticed about this band in a interview or a tweet. Oh and don't forget the choreographer on this group is Mikiko-Metal (Mikiko Mizuno) you can find more of her works with Eleven Play, they did an amazing choreo with drones, check it out, not sure if it was at a talent contest TV show or something but it was fantastic. You can find more of her but it can be tricky, sorry i can't post. There are others Hindi words in this lyrics like: Prana, Chakra, Samsara, and Karma. And the section with the "Ali ali ali" i think is Hindi too. You can find more live performance version of this songs, some almost all of them look the same and got no alterations in the choreo, the MV is trippy with the kaleidoscope thing like you said, isn't bad but for a full choreo appreciation and correct breakdown you need the full live version like this one. 7:38 That is MoaMetal on the left, one of the original members, the other one is SuMetal with the pipes. Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘❤️

@@xiaouiris Nice, you can always count with The One, i already did a wall of text so i didn't want to make this longer posting the lyrics 😅 Btw you got it alright about the difficulty with the hands and the isolated head movements not even some experts dancers can handle that style, is more common or "easy" for hip hop, popping or even breakdance style but these girls learned a lot and they've been showing more and more complex choreo while they growing up. I also like you noticed the body movement or the "wakame" dance evolved from MoaMetal as like to call, that's a reference to a dance move she did when being younger and moving her body like a seaweed looking so kawaii UwU Now look at her all grown up. Thanks again for sharing and doing the best dance breakdown I've ever seen so far. Just some recommendations for live Babymetal performances...."Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (aka, IDZ) live at Sonisphere 2014, "Megitsune" (any live version will do), "Headbangeeer! - Night of 15 Remix" as well as "Headbangeeer! Live Legend 1997" (Same song, same concert, but the Night of 15 Remix is wildly Poppy and disco-y and just crazy fun). My personal favorite performance of Headbangeer! is the "Legend M" concert (aka, Moabangeeer!) celebrating Moa's 20th birthday and she sings lead for the second half of the song. Try to catch older performances when possible to see the original 3. Yui Mizuno (no relation to their Choreographer, Mikiko Mizuno), the most technical and arguably best dancer of the group left in 2018 after a year-long absence for health reasons. You will see in the IDZ performace at Sonisphere, her tutu tore and kept getting caught on her glove. She managed it like a true professional and kept going as if nothing was wrong. "Road of Resistance Live in Japan" is the epitomal perfomance, but also the official MV so it tends to get blocked. Another good one is the "Full Cast" performance at the Legend - Metal Galaxy show in which, Su, Moa and all 3 "Avengers" (hired to dance in Yui's place on a rotating basis) perform together along with both backing bands, the Kami Bands of the East and the West. Speaking of the Avengers, Riho Sayashi started her tour as a solo artist this past year and has several Dance Practice videos and live performace videos uploaded to YT. Kano FUjihara can be seen in performance videos with her Idol group @onefive. Momoko Okazaki was the only Avenger to perform in Babymetal's last 10 - 20 shows before going on a K-Pop contest reality show, so If you watch any of the "10 Babymetal Budokan" performances, Momoko will be the third dancer. To my knowledge, she does not have any active projects currently.

Their most recent album, Metal Galaxy, has a number of tracks with distinctive cultural angles and the girls have expressed that it's always been their drive to spread metal music as wide as possible, so it kinda makes sense. For some more interesting clips from that album, maybe try PA-PA-YA! I *really* enjoyed watching you react to this, not the least reason being that you accurately denote the difference between "appreciation" and "appropriation." The Japanese people believe in culture as a thing to be shared, not locked away just for themselves...which explains why a gaijin like me can stroll through Kyoto wearing a kimono (life goals!), and also why you can find an entire Chicana sub-culture there! Thank you for doing this again. Amazing reaction, love all these insights and questions. I'm so glad you said "cultural appreciation, not appropriation." :-) It's a real worry of getting things wrong. About the hand movements, the choreographer they work with has a LOT of choreography that incorporates hand movements. It's part of the 'lyrics interpretation' of her style. And it's great you praised Moametal for her headmovements, as others have mentioned, music and vocals is something a lot of people can judge, but dance is less common. That said prasing Su-metal for her vocals is also very much appreciated ;-) When the album came out and this was released Shanti Shanti Shanti was one of the song I replayed the most. Specifically for the vocals. Babymetal in their songs incorporates words from other languages, just like any language has loanwords, they use words from the culture/language they are references. Or incorporate English words. The song you mentioned by Rusiana also incorporates English words in the same way ! Japanese culture incorporates a bunch of things from India, like Buda and Yoga, so they have some connection with the culture at least. We've heard from behind the scenes that they've done Yoga, so the girls specifically know this. Babymetal for many fans is something special. If you want to react to other Babymetal songs incorporating other cultures, Night Night Burn is a good choice. An other song is: Oh Majinai. The video which has good view of the choreography is: BABYMETAL - OH! MAJINAI (2020 European Tour) on the RU-vid channel: Fantigora channel Babymetal has a new album coming up, going to be released, early next year. They've released some snippets on their RU-vid channel and their 'fan club'-site. If you check out the video: " RESTORATION LEVEL 96% #BABYMETAL #THEOTHERONE " based on the visuals my guess is they've got an other song which incorporates the middle east or Morocco on the new album. You can already see it from the thumbnail. About Bloodywood: it isn't new to me, because I had seen something from them all the way back before they had their original songs. And even their friend TheSnakeCharmer I had noticed independently.

Nice react. I’m a Babymetal fan for the music. I don’t really know about the dancing but it’s nice to see something different. I wanted to say that Su’s vocals are always very deliberate. She made that yodelling sound deliberately. Moa, whose dancing you commented on is a really fantastic performer and again, like Su, always deliberate and accurate.

Seen enough musicians do reactions, its definitely a refereshing and educational to see someone reacting to the choreography. Enjoyed it alot. Good thing you didn't checkout the official video, the kaleidascope effect covered up alot of the dancing. For a more deeper analysis of this song, an English professor Andrew Hartley along with 2 Indian professors, takes a pretty good look at it, from Choreo to lyrics. You should take a look. This song was from their 3 album, which included other ethnic influences... You have Oh Majina which is Eastern European polka with a touch of Riverdance, and you have Night Night Burn which is latin ballroom salsa..... Please take a look at those....Or for something a little bit different, you should checkout the choreo for Shine specifically from the Legend M Concert. It's where Moa (the dancer you and everyone likes) has a solo dance peformance. Have fun exploring Babymetal. 🤘🦊🤘

I really love this song cause I actually was growing up watching Indian movies with Hrithik Roshan and ShahRukh Khan, and I was stunned by their dancing moves and SU-METAL's vocal lines were so on point. But watching your reaction I understand now how much work was put in this one. Thanks for the video. 💖

BABYMETAL respectfully incorporate all cultures into their songs and dances." Shanti Shanti Shanti Shanti" is a prime example, but you should also try "Oh! MAJINAI", which incorporates classical Northern European dance, or "Night Night Burn!", which incorporates Latin music. If you want to see SU-METAL, the main vocalist, rap, we recommend B×M×C🌏🌍🌎🦊

🦊Much much appreciation for the reaction. As a fan I am just loving it. And always so great to see the expert's side of view. 💜 I think they did their best to appreciate different cultures when trying to blend it into their music. There still can be weird details maybe when crossing cultures and doing something they were not familiar with. But I can imagine how much respect the members have for it. It's a group of dedication and the respect from heart for the artform after all. I think Moa, the dancer, used to say something like they know they are going to face many criticisms but she knows they just need to give everything they can to prove themselves. I can't remember the exact words and the interview now. And to add a little bit to it. Her name "Moa"最愛 means "the most of love/the most loved" or "favorite".💜🦊
