It is easy for people from the comfortable west to say 'Ask what their hopes and dreams are' . When you're from a poor background like the setting of this movie, you don't have the luxury. Their father made the best decision. He saw an opportunity to make his kids successful and took it. He had to be harsh, he was fighting against the social norms. He might even be considered liberal.
The initial part of desperately wanting a boy might come as a bit brutal but that was a reality in rural India till not too long ago. It has changed a lot but not completely gone from remote villages. In those times, girls were nothing more than worker for household chores and babymakers. The movie does nice job of highlighting that aspect of bygone times. Love your reaction btw.
Yeah, it was like that in the US but it was further back like late 1800s into early 1900s. There are still farming areas that would still prefer boys this day too.
This is true , in my family it happened. We Didn't had any brother or cousin for inheritance. Then my anty had a son who is 5 year old . So this part is definitely true even if it's brutal
*I shake my head every time foreigners reacts to Dangal. They completely forgets that not every country has the same privileges as Americans. In America you have so many opportunities but here in some parts of Asia sometimes there's literally nothing you can do to pull yourself out of a village so far away from civilization and it's 100 times harder for girls. All that talk about parents should ask children what their heart wants is useless cause the competition and pressure of the society is unlike anything Americans will ever understand. While it's logical to choose a path you'd love, we still have to think about our future, family and potential income to survive. Sad but true reality.*
@@ChaatNChat Sure. Actually there are two more Aamir khan’s movie, which you would like. They are bit old ones but they were hit. The movie names are Ghajini (yr 2008) ( for this movie also he did a transformation) and then there is Talaash (2012) ( it’s a mystery movie, which I would highly recommend if you like watching mystery movies) .
And it's not make up job as u thought.. he took time for the transformation and skin also rejuvenates ... That's the difference you saw in the starting of this video

I belong to haryana ( state in India). 90% of Indian wrestlers, boxers come from here. We do not consume nonveg. Geeta babita are also purely vegitarian. Infact allmost all the haryanvi wrestlers are vegitarian. Dairy is most important part of our diet. (Bollywood/khanwood) always manipulate with our culture. I was talking about the de-aging. We watched the transformation too which was awesome!!! But yeah, I work in VFX for Hollywood and I was talking about how they removed all of the wrinkles and made his skin very smooth. It looks like a combination of make-up and vfx. Awesome movie though we both loved it a lot. Aamir Khan is very impressive for being able to do such a crazy transformation - fat to fit 😯😧
No reaction channel has watched Article 370 yet, not sure WHY!!! I would highly recommend watching it once.. Political aspects aside, the cinematography, story telling and direction is too good.. One of the best performances of 2024 till date..
Amir actually gained 35 kgs of weight for this movie and later worked on 8pack abs for his younger version.You should checkout his transformation video he recorded for Dangal
@@ChaatNChat not just that, first he gained around 35 kgs to reach 98 Kgs weight with 37% body fat to play the older parts of Mahavir, then he engaged in a 4 or 5 month long regimen, until he achieved a staggering 9.6 percent body fat to play younger parts. And he did this when his age was over 50.

No no, for his younger look. I don't care how much you lose weight or gain it, getting rid of bags and wrinkles on the face is not part of that. I was talking about his flashback look when he was like 10-20 years younger. Could also be vfx, I work in VFX and I do that stuff a lot. (We watched the transformation video as well so I also know what you're talking about with how much work he did for the film and that was amazing!)

The story is real and the hero(Amir Khan) of this movie u can see by his body transformation in this movie...he actually did it for this movie... that why he is known mr. perfectionist in Bollywood.
Actually today! Yes what you said is right But at that time, it was totally different because since childhood girls were told they only have to do household chores and go to their husband's house and that's it! They didn't have much of a dream of themselves! They couldn't go againt whole orthodox community! When geeta babita started taking a step against this mindset, you can see in the movie that even other girls were first against them and trolling them in school, so at that time They had no one to either support! Even at that time atleast their dad took a step of making a better future for their daughter rather than just marrying them. It was actually a small kind of revolution that had an impact on many orthodox families later on! That even Girl's can do what boys can!
I understand you talking about Dreams the girl could have had! But dreams are always built in what society you are growing in! Most kids aren't ready to choose their careers until they're about 10 years old since they have little exposed to world. It's okay for parents to help them decide even its their own dream about kids to become for their future, as long as they don't push too hard. But if a child really loves something, parents should encourage that.
