In Mondo's defense, he didn't murder Chihiro over the "I'm actually a boy" thing per se. And I'm sure everyone already understands the actual reason at this point, considering that we all, I assume, played the fucking game.
***** It both was and wasn't. Chihiro telling Mondo he was a boy was the thing to set him off, but it wasn't BECAUSE he was actually a boy. He was upset that Chihiro looked up to him and thought he was strong physically, but he didn't see himself the same way due to his inability to tell everybody about his secret, and felt as if Chihiro was insulting him in the heat of the moment.
Chiaki Nanami In addition to what you just said, it was also because Mondo felt jealous of Chihiro, because Chihiro confessing his secret to Mondo and wanting to make a change for himself showed a sign of impressive strength. Strength which Mondo didn't have, because unlike Chihiro, who was prepared to face his fears and secrets head on, Mondo had still been running from his own secret at that point. Everything piling on top of each other caused Mondo to snap, and then he killed Chihiro in the heat of the moment.
Chihiro is such an underrated character honestly. The only times he's ever brought up in the fandom are the dumb debates about whether he's trans or not and it's sad because there's more to him than the way he dresses.
DJ A Spoilers ahead Yes, he is one of the most important characters in the game and arguably the game series as he had a tie in the second game as he created the virtual world and helped out by creating Chiaki He is highly intelligent and his alter ego had a lasting impression on the characters. For most characters, you don’t see their talent having that big of an impact but fujisaki’s did And it saved Makoto from his execution, while helping with the secret of the school.
And it's literally the exact same situation with Naoto in Persona 4. She pretended to be a boy so she wouldn't be discriminated against by other detectives.
Normally I'm not a fan of these kinds of things, because I'm rather sick of the constant crusades launched by SJWs. However, this was actually handled rather tastefully and subverted the normal expectations of such a reveal. At least, that's my opinion.
"It's not even about it suiting you, since you're a girl..." Makoto please... "i don't know why now of all times you're trying to be funny" MAKOTO PLEASE!
+Killer Queen OK, so both Oogami and Kirigiri checked Chihiro's corpse and found he had a dick, but he has a vagina because...??? sorry, chihiro's a dude.
Dang it. I LOVED Fujisaki. Why did he have to die?! I mean, in whatever this is he didn't, but seriously. He could have just lived. Rant rant rant about how Fujisaki could live.
I'm watching through the anime currently, and checked some of the characters on TVtropes, and under Chihiro's entry is listed the "Too good for this sinful earth" trope, which fits rather well.
Yasuhiro is so useless in the anime, he's just a coward and is probably the hugest dumbass. Chapter 2: Hagakure sees the murder weapon as a dumbell "I bet it was a metal pipe!"
When Chihiro opened up to Mondo, it was met with bitterness, jealousy, anger and despair. And he was murdered for it. But when he opened up to Makoto, it was met with kindness, understanding, support and hope. And it made them true friends. I'm happy for you, Chihiro. I'm glad you got a second chance. I'm glad you ALL did.
@@lara3780 yo you good? Chihiro was a cross dresser, and was pretending to be a girl. Doesn't exactly mean he or she is trans. I don't know, but I just think he or she is a cross dresser.
I was definitely super depressed when he died, then again when his AI persona, Alter Ego, died. Too innocent for this sinful earth indeed, especially given the narcissistic jerk and bipolar serial killer that make it out alive.
@@SuperZez I actually think Makoto is. But what happened is after he saw her cry it hit him that Chihiro wasn't joking and says the correct gender after that.
Corky K You can't really "assume" something that was already established as a fact. Hell, he even said that he's a boy to Makoto in this video that you've replied to me.
That's what I've been doing this entire time. Chihiro was and still is my favorite character out of everyone in Danganronpa trigger happy havoc. He was the sweetest and most innocent person there and I actually cried when he died. I love him so much, and I love his strength to change from his weakness instead of hiding from it. I'm so happy to see his happy and smiling face here. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
As a transgender person myself, I think all this “DANGAN RONPA SUCKS! CHIHIRO FUJISAKI IS A TRANSGENDER GIRL!! THEY DIDN’T DO IT RIGHT!!” Is total bullshit. Chihiro’s struggles didn’t include gender dysphoria. Chihiro’s struggles were about gender roles and cissexism. He thought the only way to escape being bullied for his feminine tastes and natures was to pretend he was a girl. A transgender woman wouldn’t be caught DEAD insisting she’s a man and that she wants to be referred to as one. That’s just not how it works. Tumblr, I appreciate the stress for representation, but you can’t always work it out. Maybe some years along the line in your own personal headcanon or AU, Chihiro could be a transgender girl. But in canon, he’s not. Please take my opinion as a transgender person into consideration, thank you. 💗
Inky Dinky That would not even slightly make sense The dude is 17 when he comes into Hopes Peak, and he has the same physical appearance in DR1 compared to when he enters Hopes Peak. And considering Kyoko looked at his body to confirm he is a boy, he must have male genitalia. Him being a trans guy would mean the following: He had operations to physically change his gender way before 17, then was physically a guy, then was bullied because he was too weak compared to other guys (and not bullied because he is trans) and then crossdresses as a girl to hide that weakness. On all accounts, nothing about this would make sense. Chihiro is cis. QED
Exactly! Chihiro would be trans if he dressed like a girl because he WANTED to and not felt like he HAD to because of societal pressure to conform to either total masculinity or femininity. Chihiro also expresses a desire to be referred to as a boy... I’m not trans but I don’t think posing as a girl to avoid scrutiny is being trans; he did it because he felt there was no other way to escape the bullying.
Chihiro and Chiaki -Both Cute and Extremely Adorable. -Both have Similar Hair Styles -Both of their Names start with "Chi" -Both get Crushed in their Execution. (Going off of the "Alter Ego" Character he created.) -Both give you Panties / Underwear when Completing their Free-Time Events to the Fullest. -Both also give you the "Cheat Code" Ability when their Events are all said and done too. Seems like their Bond goes deeper than I Thought. I Love it. ^^
I always loved Chihiro since I started reading the manga. I found out he was a guy, and I basically thought to myself... "Why doesn't this change anything?" Hell, if I had a sweet lil guy who's helpful, driven, and sweet as he is, with me, in reality, I'd consider MYSELF the ultimate luck..
Who wont?! ;D it would be pretty awezome that instead of some granny panties naegi recieved a top ... or a photo ..(if u know what kind of photo i mean... 7w7)
When he mentioned his "true self"... couldn't help it. but persona 4 sprung to mind. it wouldn't be TOO bizarre if dangan ronpa and persona crossed over. heck it might even be really badass. but then that raises the question... who's better at murder mystery solving? Narukami or Naegi? =3
Apprentice05 in a western sense, yes. but it's also used in japan to refer more to a "social" trap, i.e. if you're not sure of someone's gender and accidentally refer to them with the wrong pronouns and offend them. but in this case, i'm pretty sure that guy used it as a slur yeah :L
i honestly didnt expect he was a boy, when i first play danganronpa, i did not get it until sakura scream it with all her muscles... it took me 30 min after the shock to keep playing
I mean it kinda makes sense for him to have a boy voice cuz ya know he is a boy unless he is one of those persons who can alter their voice to seem like someone of the opposite gender
I bet Chihiro is just listening to all of Makoto's advice being like "Wow, this bitch is just making shots in the dark, he has no clue what my goal is"
I don’t love him because of the way he dresses or his backstory I love him because of his overall personality and strength, his soft feminine side reminds me of myself!
@methjuice as much as i love chihiro and respect his goal to be strong, i dont like the mindset that he had to be super buff and manly and reject all feminity. its sad and he deserves to just be comfortable without worrying about his lack of manliness
objectiveHypocrite he. This whole video went over the fact that Chihiro is a guy. It doesn't make you gay to find a fictional character to be cute. Not saying that it's bad to be gay either.
@@PKmaster12 I love men like you. It's so annoying with all these damn over masculine assholes running around spitting hate for no reason. You're awesome just from this comment. ❤️❤️
I imagine this is how the conversation went between Mondo and Chihiro in the "S" universe, where Mondo didn't have the stress of exposure looming over him. Obviously, there would be some differences, but the general reactions would remain the same: the shock, the initial "Haha, good joke" denial, the realization, and finally, the acceptance+support. Of course, this would probably go for any interaction that involve a reveal like this. It's just a matter of how the characters treat this new discovery.
I sorta liked how Makoto's internal monologue referred to Chihiro as "she", then changed it to "he" after the reveal. I know many LPers change the pronoun used for Chihiro, but I find it fitting to leave it as is since it varies based on the characters (e.g. Alter Ego is technically an "it", yet Taka refers to it as a "he" while Hifumi calls it a "she", both for personal reasons with no regard to the actual gender of a laptop A.I.; everyone else uses "he", tho I feel there's no big meaning in that).
The nice thing about being heteroflexible when the girl you were interested in reveals himself to be a crossdressing guy is there is no "Oh. I might be gay." moment. It's more like a "Oh. That's pretty hot." moment.
