This place has a unique mix of The Americas, Europe, and Africa. As always, I meet interesting locals who show me the places I go.

Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. @@marcgarrigosmane166 son casas terreras, heredadas de padres a hijos,les decimos aquí.de una planta,fabricada por sus dueños a mano ,la mayoría de la década de los años 40/50 .Las fabelas son parecidas pero aquí el terreno era comprado legalmente,materiales de más calidad ect en lo único que se parecen a las fábulas es en la estructura por ser fabricadas en una colina. Aquí no hay peligro ni delincuentes....

Gran Canaria es maravillosa yo nací en Las Palmas pero vivo en otra isla Lanzarote y me encanta recorrerla cuando voy de visita.Gracias por estos videos porque creo que en U.S.A por ejemplo hay mucha gente que conoce las Islas Csnarias y para mi son un paraíso al que todo el pueda debería visitar.

I hate missing flights! Never happened to me, but only because the flights were so delayed! Hey, you got the week off? Not here in Castillon area. Just today, which is my regular day off. I'll be traveling on 2, 4 day trips for the next two weeks, so just working 3 days. I having family visiting, and got the OK from my CEIP. Since hope to travel to new places between going back home and next school year. Weird that we can only leave country for 90 days, and there's 120 days in between. Great video. Loved the old guy, (couple years younger than me! that always shocks me).

Last week we had what’s called semana blanca which was only in malaga (lucky us!) but it’s for us to have the same amount of vacation as the rest of spain. And as long as your transparent with your school they should let you. Usually what I do is make up the days I miss on my “off days” and they okay it.. however it depends on the school

Mi esposa y a mi nos entro sentimiento viendo tu video...La zona izquierda es San Roque,donde vivía su tía Maruca.Ella emigró a Venezuela y cuando regresaba,toda la familia se reunía para darle la bienvenida. Muchas familias Canarias sobrevivieron gracias a las remesas enviadas pir sus emigrantes y en Gran Canarias, los emigrantes son bien recibidos.Los canarios son gente humilde, de caracter fuerte pero también cariñosos...El cariño,mi niño,mi cielo ect es parte de su vocabulario y también muy generosos

What an amazing vid lad. Been doing my semester’s work lately about the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as I’m a geography student. This video truly helped me understood more about the city’s aura. Si vas de nuevo, te recomiendo hacer una caminata por el Barranco Guiniguada. Puedes llevar comida y demás ya que hay una zona picnic una vez avanzas bastante jaja. A parte que ves todo desde abajo y puede resultarte interesante! Un placer que hayas mostrado este barrio tan bonito y olvidado de Las Palmas❤️

When you return to the Canaries and go to Lanzarote you should visit La Villa de Teguise, the village from which some people travelled to your country, to Texas where they founded San Antonio. Enjoy the island. And don't forget to visit Fuerteventura, the best beaches in Spain... and a surfer paradise...

Me entristece que muchos turistas solo vengan como turistas de « sol y playa « y no salgan de los hoteles o las playas del sur y se pierdan el resto de la isla. I am originally from Gran Canarias and i know exactly where you are, San Nicolas is in the old town centre and that is why you can see the old buildings and mostly, people in San Nicolas barely knows English or they have studies, so they are probably not the best to guide you anyway, but yes, that is probably the oldest place together with the museum of Colon.

@@AdventureElliot Yes i found your videos by watching different youtube chanes about canary island, i lived in UK for the past 7 years and i kind of like missed, but San Nicolas it is probably so old in what means to paths and houses (very old made) that i while i was watching your video i was, please people from there dont embarraas me haha, many people in canarian, specially old people dont have studies, people who lives in San Nicolas dont have lot of money so to be fair, from my perspective, the area you visited is historical but also very "slums" is that make sense. Love your videos just make me feel we got something in common but me spanish to english and you american to spanish, so i do understand your interest for a dif culture and getting impressed for canarian way to live, mostly cuz of our weather, what condition our houses and life styles, gastronomy, etc. Be safe xxx Dario Batista

Im from there (Telde) originally but live in Sweden. Only went to gran canaria once. I would have wanted to go to the country side and see more canarian culture now as a grown up. Thanks for the Vid

How cool you did a video on el barrio de San Nicolás. I go there every now and then carrying my bike on my back most of the time as there are mainly steps. You won't see a lot of tourists here. It indeed has a Latin American vibe. The street with all the plants is the prettiest. I read that a lot of sailors used to live here. I always say there are three reasons to live in las Palmas: the weather, the weather and the weather.

You always a great attitude to approach strangers, Elliot. Not many Spaniards would´ve gotten a free bike ride... :D Las Palmas is nice, it has a very different vibe to Palma de Mallorca, much more relaxed, and friendly. Better weather all year around, too. OTH, it´s also much poorer, and it is much more deteriorated. Plus a bunch of "newer" problems such a desert calimas, plenty of African illegal immigration, and as always, one of the highest unemployment rates in Spain. There´s no perfect city, I guess...

@@AdventureElliot No, mate, I'm just another average, continental Spaniard... ;) I just visited there, and know a little bit about my country, including people from Las Palmas who are a bit disappointed about how their city is been going. Palma is waaay too turisty, expensive, and Catalan language-speaking, for my own good. I was just trying to establish a comparison with another city I presumed you already knew. Best!
