A small problem with that is that only some protestants were allowed back with their distinct traditions intact. At least two Black pentecostal churches and some former orthodox converted to Catholicism and they could not come back with any of their liturgical or prayer traditions. To say that anglicans and lutherans are closer because of form is arbitrary as all of them severed communion with the church by being protestant. I pray that our church can be enriched by all of its returning sons and daughters.

Vigano is a good and faithful bishop who is calling out the unholy errors of Modernism and the changes of doctrine found in some of the declarations of the "pastoral", non infallible Vatican ll. I'm sure Vigano still mentions Francis in the Mass, a sign of his fidelity to the Papacy.

Marcel Lefebvre's excommunication was never lifted by Benedict XVI. Lefebvre died in a state of excommunication, just like Martin Luther. Benedict XVI lifted the canonical excommunications of four SSPX prelates: Fellay, Tissier de Mallerais, Williamson, and Galarreta. Furthermore, the SSPX is in schism, per Canon 751: "schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him".

Actually it was not forced rather automatically done as per the Canon Law. Pope John Paul II at that time just confirming that an auto excommunication was indeed happened at the moment he lay his hand upon the head of the 4 consecrated Bishops. Not sure that is true not saying it is not true. I think the clarification needs to be made to clearly indicate what Bishop Williamson status is within the Formal SSPX. He, along with Bishop Fellay and 2 others had their excommunications rescinded, but Williamson's was reinstated is considered outside the bounds of the Formal SSPX. It seems Vigano has a close association with Williamson. Again, it seems, but that I think may also be included in Vigano's excommunication charges along with rejecting Vatican II and Pope Francis as the Successor of St. Peter (Pope).

The SSPX recognizes the Pope but denies his authority over them. They keep erecting CHurches of their own, establishing their own ecclesistical tribunal without the consent of the local bishops. They act like a sect. Sayin they accept the second Vatican council is A BIG JOKE from you. The SSPX is illogical in every ways. Sedevacantists are way more consistent in their way. The SSPX IS SCHISMATIC, whether you want to accept It or not. The Ecclesia Dei also fight modernism, but they are not in schism.
